-1 I'd suggest a pod be added to a regular ship that launched with them that they can dock and undock from. That way, the trident owner would have to be somewhat vulnerable when launching and retrieving them which can only increase player interaction since tridents are boring targets.
That doesn't make any sense kenny. Since a trident has a dock, the furies should be able enter the dock. Sounds pretty simple to me. Should be one of the advantages of having a CAPITAL ship.
capitol ships have too many advantages already (like unlimited reps and reloads without needing supplies for said reps and reloads), but let's stay on topic
Kenny, let me make this simple for you.
Trident has dock.
Furie should use dock
Why do you have a problem with this? We're not asking for furies to be able to dock with moths.

I'm saying, the furies could be able to attach themselves to any ship. That's all I would plus one since the furies aren't smart enough to follow you all that well. Why do you have a problem with the little furies being able to attach themselves to the owners ship? That would make them much more useful for everyone.
Interesting prospect, but what cu. would you consider they should have as cargo? Would a player need be controlling the dent to allow them to dock? What happens when the owner docks at a station with them in the hold? Would they use grid power to launch or a minimum amount of energy? Does the time in dent dock count against the lifespan of the bots?
At 1st glance I like the suggestion, still to many variables left undefined. This could be a + or - 1 depending on the intended implementation.

Hule, with a magnetic clamp, there would be fewer variables and we'd be working within the code base and benefiting all players equally. I'll assume the furies would carry their own weight while clamped to the ship and would merely offset their weight and not add to the ships thrust.
I just remembered that during the Orion Command mission the squadron commands include, order squadron: jump to rendezvous sector. Would a similar command say, order furies: jump to my location help avoid the "get lost" / stuck in a storm issue? I do not have furies, not sure if that command exists and does not address the issue.
Docking is already a game mechanic, magnetic clamping isn't.
+1 to furies being able to dock which would extend their lifespan

Need know if the complete lack of navigation "smarts" of the furies is intentional? Strike force npc seem to find players extremely well storm, fog, jump after jump after jump. Like rob-dobermans they are. Makes me think it is not by chance that the furies have navigation issues. If that is the case the suggestion would be to mod that instead, no?
Their issues are a consequence of how the mission system works, not by intent.
Makes sense. +1
why no repairing when they dock?! when they dock to a valent station (only stations they automaticly dock), then they can repair too.
if it is to prevent abuse, let them be docked for ~1min till they are repaired

-1 to furies if they give more advantage to some over others. They were either not well thought out and should be removed or are here before their time for the time being.
But, a BIG -1 for another new trident toy advantage of the over powered trident.

I now think having a 'safe' place for Furies available only to Trident owners will not be a good addition to game play. I have since gained access to them and don't think they need to be protected within a Tridents hold from storms or any other situations where owners risk they being lost, damaged or destroyed.

Since they now pass on faction hits to their owners, furies are not all that much in demand. By letting them be a dockable defense for tridents, they might find some use again.

I'm fine with this as long as they contribute toward the occupied cargo space while docked, same as any other ship. And of course, killing the Trident while they're docked should kill them as well, whether or not the owner is also in the Trident.

Make them take up... say 75cu each. I would say even less (like 50cu) as they are tiny, but I'll err on the side of more cu to offset the nay-sayers. Discuss.
