Keep Leviathan Asteroid Ring Alive Until Hive Regenerates

If you don't stay in the sector to keep it awake the levi sector disappears within 10 minutes (or less). It should remain intact until the hive regenerates. Or, more specifically, it should not have the possibility to timeout/reset to emptiness until the hive regenerates.

*i just realized I didn't specify that I'm talking about specifically post-leviathan death*

Not to state the obvious, but this has zero impact on new player retention. Why is this worth the devs' time at all?

Well looks like a consensus of experienced and knowledgable players think this is a good idea!

I understand the desire to reduce server load from active sectors, but it's kind of immersion breaking for any sector to "reset" after 10 minutes. This is especially true for sectors with high-end bots like queens and levis. This is supposed to be a massive multi-player game. If it can't handle keeping sectors alive, we need to change the description of the game.

Reducing server load is always a good idea, but if this is actually a minor issue or not an issue at all in the first place, don't waste the devs' time on it.

Not every idea has to benefit the new player retention. Occasionally, the veterans need a bone thrown, too.

And in the case at hand... it's not even true that this specific suggestion is not good for new player retention. Back when I used to hunt Leviathans more often, I used to gather a team of a handful of veterans and one or two newer players. After we had destroyed the Leviathan, we would mine the asteroid belt for 30 minutes or so (because greenwall is right with his bug post. It used to stay around much longer). Afterwards the new players were happy they could collect so much Xith for whatever newbie mission they had going.

It is indeed good for commited new players. Easy way to get premium Xith in Sedina. :)

edited to show the OP is specifically talking about post-leviathan death...

Sieger, Joyless is just trolling as usual.

OP is on the mark, post-leviathan death the sector should not timeout/reset to emptiness until the hive regenerates.

Oh, you're referring to sieger and harpo? 2 conceity self absorbed individuals who don't give a damn about new players

You're not even entertaining as a troll. Go and read a few thousand Genka posts to learn how it's done.

I don't even get why Levi sectors and new players are being brought up in the same posts. Errrm, Levis are supposed to be hard, AKA not for new players.

Have a lid and think about your posts dudes and dudettes.

Yoda, stop posting shit that's so dumb I'm forced to agree with and cite to some random noob to address it; you're better than that and it annoys me to boot.
