Death to all auto-fire

Mar 19, 2016 UnderLineD link

Here is a image of the droid buttons set up I have worked out is the best for PvP on a touch screen (which I am currently stuck with till I get my PC back).
By using both thumbs you can dodge and move has good has you gunna get on a phone. My problem is firing has this requires you to stop dodging for a second or two, which leads to death most times. So I use auto-fire...
But tbh it just not aggressive enough. I need something that will fire on any target, not just what auto-fire thinks is a theat.
Maybe we could have a safety off mode or something?
I plan on killing friend and foe... man, maybe even blast up a roid for no reason.

First off, if you are using DB, why are you keeping the old interface, too? that just adds a bunch of clutter.

Autofire will normally attack any currently-targeted enemy, though sometimes doesn't attack players. let them hit you first. enemy hive bots will always be fired upon, unless you turn off autofire.

What I do is use a field for strafing on my right, and a field for ship pitch/yaw on my left. I also have various weapon buttons on BOTH my left and right. that way, I simply *briefly* stop using one of the two fields to release a burst of fire. since I usually leave A/F on, this is only used for firing my secondary and tertiary weapon groups.

Is this a small phone you are using? If not, I recommend going under settings and using the tablet's native resolution for gameplay; resize your buttons while you are at it. using proper fields (as opposed to independent buttons will also help you move with finer detail, as well.

Ok. I will sum up my thread in one simple line...

I would like a auto-fire mode or plugin that fires on anything I target. ANYTHING.

I too would like to use autofire in a broader capacity:

To me, it would be more useful to be able to designate which targets I would like autofire to engage against on an individual basis, as sometimes in furballs there are numbers of friendly "targets" I would not want to accidentally hit.

Phaser, doesn't the MakeFriends plugin from TCS allow you to do exactly that?

(granted, I don't know for certain that auto-fire will be enabled for a radar target that's been designated as hostile through the use of MakeFriends)

Thanks I'll look into it.
Did this in the meantime ...

That looks kinda slick actually...

Phaserlight + OP, install TCS, makefriends seems to work for me 9 out of 10 times.

Maybe that is just my tweaked makefriends, and sometimes it can take a few seconds to fire too, especially since some recent changes. But it works.

Also you do know you can bind some of your hardware keys to stuff too right? Like Vol +/- to shoot 1/2

Just a thought, but relying on autofire under any PVP situation is probably going to leave you dead. (Unless you are fighting Bojan of course, then it is over-powered) lol

That has really helped out a lot, plus the TCS plugin on the whole is awesome. Lot a thanks yodaofborg. I had to nerf the clock because of a lua error for some reason, but thats no great loss.
I'm also going to try binding primary fire to my camera button if possible.
Still not the total griefing 'kill on lock-on' I was after but at least I don't have to wait to be hit anymore.
Love the chase system and chain fire too. Thanks again

That's pretty sick, dude. maybe I should look at reskinning my VO...

Is TCS available at VOUPR? If not, could ye leave a link? If so, ill find it later today.

EDIT: Actually, don't use this version. Use ARF's, linked below, which is what I thought this was because I didn't bother to look closely. Derp.

That version actually does have a couple of issues, I recommend ARF's version, which can be found here

(Note, you may want to rename the folder tcs-plugins-master to just tcs-plugins, if you want mutliaim to work)
