Game mechanic: Contracts

I don't know how feasible/easy this would be but here goes.
Make a system where a player can set up a contract in a station to buy or sell X number of a widget for a price set by the player. For instance, I could go to Itan J-11 and set up a contract to buy 1000 Synthetic Silksteel at 5000c each. Then players selling SSS in Itan J-11 would get 5000c per unit until the contract is full or it expires. On creating the contract I would have to pay for all the goods at my specified price, in this case 5 mil, plus a percentage for making the contract, say 5-10%. Contracts should expire in a week and any leftover credits that did not get used to buy things would be returned to my bank, for instance if I only get 700 SSS in the week I get 1.5 mil back. For selling, the widgets could be displayed in the Commodities tab with the price I set. There could also be a command/tab to show all the active contracts in a station. All the goods that I get from my contracts to buy things are put into my inventory as they are sold to me and all the goods I am selling are taken from my inventory when I create the contract. On creation of a buy contract, if I don't have the necessary storage space I am prompted to rent more before I can finalize the contract.
I know this might seem as though it reduces player interaction, but I think it makes it easier and gives the trader RP more value, as they are contributing to the player economy as well as just trading things from one bottomless supply to another.
