More integral NPCs
As far as our combative PvP games VO is the best. But it would be great if, for downtimes for instance, there were more immersive NPC encounters and missions. Here's a few ideas I've thought about while floating around in space.
Become the Strike Force: A mission string that allows you to become SF, protecting stations from criminals and such.
NPC bounties: dynamic missions that send you after pirate crews, theifs, enemy pilots.
Immersive encounters: random NPC encounters. Run into pirates attacking a month, and choose to protect the moth, or take the loot for yourself, for example.
Just a few brainstorming. Post some ideas yourself, maybe the devs will try a few.

This is an old request. And one that iirc Inc said was part of their long term goals.

I do think you should be able to talk to guards or the bar keeper at stations and if you have high enough standing, get tips on players with bounties who have recently been at the station including the sector they jumped to from the station sector. I would suggest the reverse for pirates to get information about traders from factions like Corvus, Xang Xi and Tunguska, except ... well you've got to have trade for there to be any point.

The latter two, NPC bounties and immersive encounters, are planned. In the nearer-term, I'm just looking at adding some new hive behavioral variations. But, longer-term, there's also a plan for a persistent-pirate-clan system (where clans can be destroyed by assault, and then another one will form eventually under another name, and so on, I think I wrote about it on here somewhere).
Ideas and feedback on more PvE encounters are welcome. These don't even need to be thought of as exclusively "solo" either, many of these concepts are interchangeably usable for grouped missions.

I thought of a "Hive virus" sort of thing. Basically, you'd be shot by a hive bot with this until your health reaches 0, and you'd re spawn in a queen in a specialized hive ship. You'd instantly become KOS with all factions and POS with the hive, and once you died your standings with return to normal.
