Add Mouselook Ability to Joysicks and Controllers.
I use a wired Xbox 360 Controller to play VO, keyboard and mouse is alien to me and I don't feel like learning how to play all over again. But when I have tried mouse and keyboard, I really enjoyed Mouselook. I liked that you can look around while turboing, and could see your target if they strafed above you, it made it easier to correct your aim, use flares, etc. If there is a way to enable Mouselook for Controllers, I think it would be beneficial to players that use this setup
And please no smartass comments about how its called "Mouselook" not "Controllerlook"
It's called MOUSElook, not CONTROLLERlook. Jeez man.
Seriously though if you're too lazy to learn something new to get the feature you want then I am not in support of the devs making it easy for you to do so.

Kierky I think you need more time away, you are still a complete dick.
LOL greenwall, why sugar coat it? :D
Dick or not, Kierky is completely right. Stop whining that the truth hurts. Learn how to take pure truth like a real man.
That's all very dramatic. But is there some reason why mouselook should not be allowed on a controller?
I'm not quite sure how the actual interface mechanics and game experience would work out, mouse-look as currently exists is pretty mouse-oriented. But I don't have any problem with the theoretical existence of something like what the OP is describing.

The tradeoff the OP is describing is accurate. I get tighter and more intuitive control with a gamepad, but much better visibility with a mouse; I've found it helpful to play using a gamepad with a mouse at hand, so that I can "switch" between the two (quotations to emphasize the rapid nature of this occurring), but I only use the mouse for looking around: the gamepad is for maneuvering.
This is the primary reason I'm looking forward to playing VO on a virtual reality display: so that I can use the gamepad to fly while naturally "looking around" using head movements. I understand there are other gadgets like TrackIR that allow one to do this, also.
If a gamepad has a touch area, perhaps that could be used as a "look around" function.

I would also like mouselook on the gamepad.
I think they were commenting on it not being an important feature to add, but nonetheless it would only serve to improve user experience if they did add it.

The mouselook advantage is real. Despite the fact that there's no other way to look around without turning your ship, it also makes concussion-based weapons less effective.
Honestly, I'd be satisfied with binds at let your camera look up/down/left/right/back or a button you can +Look and turn the camera without turning your ship.

Go ahead and process that real truth like a real man, dear joker.

The way you guys bicker in a suggestion thread is quit telling of the character of both of you...
But to try to be helpful to the OP...
There's numerous keyboard and mouse emulators out there, that provide you the ability to do just what you're asking for. I have a couple that I could pass your way.
You just emulate mouse movement with the gamepad. This also gives the added benefit of being able to use your gamepad to navigate the PDA as well, as you can just use the gamepad to move the mouse to click the desired buttons.
I still think that adding it as an option in-game would be cool.

The way you cannot differentiate between the purposes of attitude-filled posts is quite telling of the character of you, Darth.
I appreciate the positive feedback, not so much the vendettas that should be kept in Roleplay. And Darth I've thought about a controller to mouse emulator, but I feel like it would change too much of the gamepad experience, I really am only interested in Mouselook.
Though I could give it a try if you have any suggestions
Here's a suggestion:
See that little "edit" button in the top right corner of your post? Use it.

Here's a suggestion Kierky, don't answer to Suggestion posts if you are going to be counter productive. You twat.
