Indicate that post deletion happened
Currently when somebody deletes their post, it's simply gone without a trace. This is fine when it's the last post in a thread (e.g. they make a post but then immediately realize that it was a bad idea (or the wrong thread/forum) and delete it). It's much less fine when its the first post in a thread, because then the thread looks like it was started by the second poster. It can be confusing when it happens in the middle of a thread too.
So my suggestion is to replace deleted posts with a brief indicator that a post was deleted, with an exception for posts at the end of the thread. That way a post can be deleted without a trace if done quickly, but once people start replying, the deleted post leaves behind a footprint so that people don't get confused.
I would prefer for the indicator to include the name of the post's author, but that is not actually necessary.
Mods could have an option to delete posts without indicators, for the purpose of cleaning up threads without leaving a long string of "Post was deleted" behind. They should, however, be encouraged not to use that in discussion threads. It would mainly be for special-purpose threads, spam, etc.

You should delete the post, then copy paste it in reply to bojan to really emphasize the problem it causes.

While I agree with all of rin's points, this is so not worth the devs time. The occasional confusion caused by post-deletion has zero impact on the actual game.

+1 to be added to the bucket list
There are a lot of things I'd rather see, yes. But since this is a website thing, it's also relatively independent of the much more complex game code. If steam/ios brings in enough revenue, they might be able to hire an intern or something to make some of these more peripheral improvements.
Hell, I'd be willing to do some forum improvements myself for pretty cheap, since I'd be directly benefiting from them myself. I'd like to say I'd do it for free, but winter is coming and I'm all out of pants. (Seriously Inc, I'd totally polish up your forum in exchange for a few pairs of VO cargo pants.)

+1 in that case
Even something like how Reddit does it with [deleted] would be useful for context without attaching names to it.
I will contribute $100 to the forum crowdfunding effort of hiring Rin and making sure he wears pants.
