Hidden Systems
As the title says, hidden systems.
Now, these systems wouldn't be visible on the Map, their wormholes CANNOT be seen.
They'd be unnamed, Hiveless, but they'd have defenseless stations.
The systems stars would either be:
Forming (if the star is forming every sector is slightly fogged. Unless you go up or down),
Dead (lots of Star Dust, rendering them REALLY DARK),
Early Stages (All asteroid would be spinning, stationless),
Middle Stages (3-5 Stations, as Bright as Itan and Sol II combined)
End of Life (REALLY BRIGHT, Would have 1-2 Stations)
Pulsar (brightness is below normal, like, -246. The Star would be be Spinning, the stars would pulse if far away. 1 Station only)
Exploding (Highly Dangerous, Timer would appear when you enter. If you stay after the timer reaches Zero, health pool goes down to 1%. 2-3 stations)
The Stations would have All Nation and Non-Nation specific ships. No Liscenses required to buy ships and weapons.
They would also have the old ships and ship designs (WRAITHS AND DEATH PENCILS).
Everything is free (FREE X-1S! FREE PROMS!)
BUT
Keys will be needed to see them. If a player happens to stumble upon one of the systems, the player will be given a key that shows where the wormhole is.
AND
A guild can take over the system, and (if they want to) put defensive turrets on the wormholes and stations.
If another guild manages to find the system and destroy the turrets surrounding the wormhole they entered, the wh sector where the different guild arrived in will be claimed by the guild who wins the battle there (and establish a temporary command center until a station is conquered)
NOTE: GUILD WARS! TERRITORIAL WARS!

I have a delivery of 1 (ONE) pony, for a mr. Jeb. Would you like to take delivery now, or would you prefer to wait until the pony has grown a unicorn horn and/or starts farting rainbows?
Remove it's organs and tissues, leave the bone.
I'm using the bone to stab you soon.

...so I take it you haven't found the hidden systems, (or had someone tell you where they are), Robotic?
Errm, a death pencil is a centurion, we still have them.
We had hidden sectors (didn't have whole systems yet) back in Alpha, including one secret sector that was very dark, had a dimly lit nearby planet (glowing stuff on surface, lava or cities or something, I can't remember), and some really scary NPCs.
We are working on new things very much like this, and have been for some time.
Some of the above concepts may be further out in the future, but contrary to popular pessimism, some of it actually slated for the relatively near future (first half of next year, for instance). Notions like territorial conquest with persistent player-created defenses.. that may be closer still, on a smaller scale.

Planned! Slated! Expected! Anticipated! Looked-for!
Soon™!

Yeah, pretty much. We're still working on the damned dynamic-economy release slated for this past Friday.
But, anyway, the main point is that we think this stuff is all a good idea too, and are doing what we can.

Rainbow-Farting Unicorns confirmed!
