"3. cloaking device (Serco ships only, available at Serco research stations)
Makes ship invisible on radar at distances over 1400m. This would affect players, border turrets, guards and strike forces as well, when ship is over 1400m away they won't be able to target or see it.
Weight 100 kg. Serco military personnel only, price: 20.000 credits"

Soooo... basically useless?

"4. shield generator (Itani ships only, available at Itani research stations)
Adds a small shield (1000 hit points) around the ship. Once damage passes 1000 it deactivates, recharge/reactivation time 3 min.
Weight 100 kg. Itani military personnel only, price: 20.000 credits"

Slightly less useless.

I really only have one question, what drugs do you do?

@Ryan

True, useless to feeble minded with no imagination or any idea about combat tactics.

Cloaked SVG could sit at 1500m and wait for prey - at wormhole sectors, at station sectors.... btw, ever heard of adv. rails that can snipe you at long distance?
Depending on the entrance vector, cloaked SVG or SCP can sneak on unsuspecting prey and make a blitz attack.
Cloaked SVG could very easily run the gauntlet of border turrets and strike forces and slip into Itani space with very little damage. It can then be used for sneak attacks in Itani space, disrupt trade routes and other activities.

Shielded valk or IBG sacrifices some of its maneuverability for added hit protection. Slightly less useful then cloaking but it will introduce different styles and tactics in combat as well as cloaked serco ships will.

My drugs of choice are coffee and tobacco, thanks for asking, in any case far more benevolent then lobotomy spike you have been using on yourself.

Why not just let the Cloaking Device work even if the SVG is extremely far away? (I maxed the proximity warning to 214,000,000 meters alarm goes off at 4,000 meters)

The Shield would be useful though. Increase the amount of hits needed to deactivate it (like, an entire Heavy Bat can deactivate it)

UIT should get weapon accuracy enhancers and cargo expanders

Other than that, +10

"Maybe because sacrificing a port on a rag or an hornet or a taur to go botting ok kill npcs isnt really a trade-off for a vet like you.
Do you think everybody is so mentally challenged they fail to see your argument is poor or even dishonest: "I am making trade off only when there is absolutely no risk" that's what you basically admitted.
So i am asking you where the fuck is the trade off you speak of in your examples?
Drop a gauss from your vult for a scanner and go chase/camp other pilots in Ion storm then you can say you are making a trade off otherwise that's just plain bullshit.
"

You're being silly. If I wanted to prowl in an ion storm, I would not use a Corvult in the first place. I would use a Hog, Hound, or Cormaud, with a storm radar in one of the small ports. (I'd consider the UDF Raptor if I actually had access to it, and if I was Itani or Serco I'd consider a Valk or Prom since both have ports to spare.)

And yes, I do fight humans while making those sorts of trade-offs. Currently my preferred pirate ship for dealing with humans is the Hound, but when I don't have access to that I'm perfectly willing to give up a small port on a Hog, Maud, or Valk to carry a cargo scanner since I like being able to see what the NPCs I encounter along the way are carrying. And I've made that tradeoff on numerous occasions. I don't have access to Valks anymore, but before the faction system changes I used to like occasionally fixing my Itani standing so that I could fly an IDF Valk with a cargo scanner in one of the ports. That still left two ports for weapons, which was plenty. Even in a Hog, if my primary goal is piracy, not raw PVP, then a single megaposi is sufficient. If I can't beat somebody with a single megaposi, adding a second weapon to the mix probably won't help anyway in most situations. It's worth doing if killing every fool I meet is my only concern, but if I'm also on the prowl for loot, then it's worth going without the extra weapon.
