Show /vote mute voters to muted player

Jun 14, 2015 biretak link
As players /vote mutes are recorded, show the player getting muted those who have voted.

1. can show if 10 individuals /vote muted you or 2-3 people with multiple accounts
2. you can go shoot those who vote muted you
3. gives record in errors log of who vote muted so abuse can be reported

Yes, you have been muted for being obnoxious and highly irritating on public chat and now you want 'revenge' on the players that cast their votes, want devs to give you their IP addresses or phone numbers so you can send real life threats to them?

Grow up kenny.

If you and your buddies do not want to have a conversation with me, you stop talking to me not vote mute me. It's not like I was talking to myself.

Though if it isn't already restricted, vote mute should only count once per account per targeted character.

I'm sure that there is a log that GS can look at when someone is muted. If someone feels that they have been abused by this they could file a complaint via a support ticket for GS to investigate.

I think that providing the names of the players who vote mute or even a count creates perverse incentives that will only serve to incite the targeted player to more perverse behavior if they are notified or can look up the data.

I would suggest that the act of voting someone mute have a secondary affect of placing the targeted character in the voting players ignore file for 24 hours.

Yes, the command is already restricted to be once-per-account, the devs have logs, etc.

-1 OP. That would be inappropriate to the function of the tool. We do not need to create a scenario where people are afraid of voting to mute someone because they're worried about retaliation. If you feel abused, contact the devs and let them sort it out.

-1 Fluffy. There are plenty of legitimate reasons people may want to continue hearing whatever other people hear the person saying so long as he remains unmuted. People can /ignore at their own whim; it should never be forced or automatic. (Plus, that might create confusion in newbs; we don't want them thinking "/vote mute" is /ignore and thus sending votes they didn't intend.)

You need to read more kbireta. You were muted for being an idiot on 100, which is what votemute was designed to do. To stop people being a public pain in the ass.

Being an asshole is one thing, but then you jumped on a seperate account on your "Essan_Clavor" character, to evade the mute period of time, and to public lead a crusade against me, to get me muted because you were butthurt about being muted in the first place. You need to learn when enough is enough.

I said in another thread that:
"Incarnate has said in the past that he has protections against individuals abusing the vote mute system, such as IP filtering and "one per account" voting. This means he had to have had 10 *distinct* people muting him for this to happen."

Now stop speading misinformation about 3/4 accounts being able to mute someone instantly.

See above.

I think if kb feels he continues to be /vote muted unfairly, he can submit a support ticket in the abuse category.

The devs dropped the full tally to make it easier for us to self-regulate. Obviously it makes it easier to abuse the system if emotions are high, but that's what a support ticket is for.

Question: Can lite subs /vote mute? If so, I think it should be only full subs. If people want to pay $40 a month for the ability to /vote mute people they don't like, by all means!

Kierky, I never said 3-4 accounts, I said 2-3 people with multiple accounts. It was a voluntary conversation between 3 people when one of them went on a vote mute crusade instead of just letting the conversation end. No wonder why Red left. Just takes one person to drive people away.

"I said 2-3 people with multiple accounts."

Still not possible for the reasons I outlined already. You really don't pay attention do you?

Since you seem to be having trouble with basic English, here's the quote again.

Actually - thinking about it - mutes should be based on IP too. So if you get muted, it's your IP address that gets to STFU for a bit. Lets face it, any idiot with an Android device can just make a F2P account to avoid a mute, but maybe thats for a new thread.

You really are an unsavoury little cunt aren't you Ecka. Resorting to abusing the mechaics of the game to prove a point that you think you are above the rules?

I don't think that will go down well.

Why would someone mute Kenny?! He's harmless. And how hard is it to log in via wifi/3G/Ethernet with different IPs. Hint: not very hard. So between Ancient Fuckface and his soft-serve shitstain Westacular they have 6 votes between them.

Ore, sometimes it's a good idea to put someone in his place when he keeps acting like this:

The suggestion and responses have been noted. I think this can be taken to private channels now.
