Don't put important usefull shit into spyware. If you want it as a plugin make it a separate one.
don't hijack the thread Harpo and don't believe the hype. TGFT Utils is useful and not "spyware". Guild Software would nuke it if it were... stop spreading lies.
I'm not interested in a Plugin solution. Any plugin anchored to a guild would be unsuitable anyway.
This needs to be a built in function, for newbs benefit and ease of use, rather than some Vet's toy. kbireta, if anything you're hijacking the thread with your useless babble. Take it elsewhere.

no, Kierky, I see your idea is good for retention. I +1'd it. But, until the devs could make a mechanism, could it be made guild neutral through a neutral guilds already valuable plugin to new players? Like I said +1 to the original idea, but in the meantime...
Incorporating unrelated functionality into existing plugins is very poor design, kb. It makes those plugins bloated and both harder to maintain and harder to audit for safety. Better to have separate plugins to provide separate functions.

I'll try to put this as clearly as possible for you.
It's a plugin that a lot of people will never use because it reports information to TGFT about locations, etc. It is the WORST POSSIBLE place to put functionality regarding helping newbies join guilds. It would cause the whole honeypot discussion all over again.
But Kierky is right, this functionality doesn't belong in a plugin.
