Because The ENTIRE account is muted.
So either rmove it, or allow muted people to use the Forums.

If this were allowed, then we would have the forums polluted with yet more drama. Consider a muting to be a "time out" for the afflicted user, during which they could gain wisdom and insight. The user can quietly endure their temporary muting and then adjust their behavior accordingly.

Muting is mostly done for a good reason. It takes 10 votes so it is very hard to abuse. If you feel there was abuse, make a report via the Support function with chat logs.

The system is fine as it is.

No, it isn't.

I created a chat relay bot, and for no real reason at all, there was a few individuals that used their alts to mute it. It was not spamming 100 and there was absolutely no kind of profanity. I was simply talking on 100 through the chat relay bot.

From my observations, /mute has been used just as much for role-play reasoning as much as dealing with abuse. This is just sad.

Obviously, it was some veteran player/players. This was reported and nothing came about. It is unfortunate that a veteran player would abuse the responsibility that we were all given.

I think the number should be increased to 15.

At 10, one only needs two accounts to /mute someone alone. At least 15 makes it a little more difficult.

I know this is RoboticMechanicalJeb posting this. We muted you because you spam and fill 100 with crap no one wants to hear. As Whistler said, it's a "time-out" so you can get back to being "normal" (whatever that is).

What's so urgent that it simply cannot wait for 2 hours to expire??

Or are you worried that you might think something and feel compelled to tell the entire VO userbase about it? Either way we don't care, and you should practise some self control if you're being muted on a regular basis.

Darth Nihilus:
Incarnate has said in the past that he has protections against individuals abusing the vote mute system, such as IP filtering and "one per account" voting. This means he had to have had 10 *distinct* people muting him for this to happen.

The old system was 20 votes and 48h mute. We never ever ever got to 20 votes, so it was reduced to 10 and mute reduced to 2h.

I don't see a problem with the system as it is now, because all we're seeing here is somebody butthurt because they *were muted*.

It's actually doing the job well if we can mute disruptive people like RMJ and TheAxiom (alts alike). Very little substance goes into 100 in the first place, and these kinds of people do that statistic no favours.

We never ever ever got to 20 votes,

This is not entirely accurate.

I agree with Kierky (other than the likely inaccuracy genka mentions).

Darth, have you considered that maybe you were being annoying with your relay? You claim you weren't spamming, but apparently ten people disagreed with you. It's possible that this was malicious action on their parts, but it's more likely that you were just being annoying somehow. If the devs looked over the logs and didn't do anything, then it's likely that they either agreed that you were being annoying, or they decided that the harm done wasn't worth reacting over (bots don't have feelings, and from your description it sounds like the bot was useless anyway).

This is also why you put your bots on a second account, so it's separate from your player characters.

Kierky and his mates had you muted Darth. Itan wants control of all the bots in 100. Just ask Ishathis Bessuni. Which is too bad because classibot was infinitely more entertaining and less spammy than the bullshit propaganda that ITAN Shop spews out.

In FAMY, we call this a "franchise fee," and impose it on would-be poser-pirates. :-)
