Remove "Sieger maneuver" from VO
As everyone knows, when you log out your Trident stays visible for 5 min.
However, players have been observed to resort to using "Sieger maneuver" technique.
If you force quit your client - your trident disappears immediately.
If your trident was deshielded, damaged, with empty cell and under attack... logging back makes your trident appear in space 3000m from the point it was at the moment of force quitting, with a full cell and restored shields.
TGFT Sieger patented this exploit so I took the liberty of calling it the "Sieger maneuver".

It only does the instant disappearing if you take control of your trident at the same time as force quitting.
Since this is an exploit, this probably belongs in the bugs section.
sounds like a bug that should be reported
Since this is an exploit, it probably belongs in a support ticket so other players can't read about it and start using it.
However, if other people start using it, that's added incentive for the devs to fix it ASAP. Not a bad thing.
That's only if they can fix it quickly. If they can't for business or technical reasons then the rest of us just have to suffer the consequences of exploiters' abuse for weeks, months, or years until it gets fixed.
This isn't new. Most people just wouldn't resort to it. It's not like nobody's gonna notice. Maybe his computer crashed.
Thanks. We are already aware of the issue and are working on a solution, but it's not a trivial fix.

An Itan is defending a TGFT? Wow this is a first after many centuries of rivalry and distrust between the two guilds. A classic Romeo and Juliet situation, maybe?

It's called being realistic, Joyless. Try it sometime.
The second part of my name is Joker. What am I supposed to do else than to joke? Granted it was a stupid and lame joke, but a joke nevertheless.
This is probably the most sad thread I've ever read from you bojan and I JUST lost all respect for you. Yes! There was a tiny bit left after all. It's okay to keep a little RP hatred, but you seem to truly be angry that I play this game. Sorry to say, I won't do you the favor and quit. Haha.
I did not force exit the game by the way, I really crashed due to an lua error caused by an experimental plugin I was testing at the time. After I was accused by you of force-crashing, I wondered if you were bullshitting and if it were really possible to make your Trident disappear.
So to be useful in this, I ran a few tests after I saw this thread: You can insta-exit VO, but the server will not log you off immediately. I had a friend watch me and he stated the following.
- After I force-quit, I still showed as logged in
- Once 1 minute has elapsed, my character left the sector
- My Trident however stayed in the sector for the normal persistence period
So you cannot intentionally do this. This very issue is caused by a lua error which makes the player crash.
I'd like to add that I think you are an unsporty idiot bojan. If I didn't you know you were impolite to the core, I'd expect an apology.

Crashes are not caused by lua errors. They're caught by the game and presented in a pretty dialog box, which is why they're not called lua crashes. Next excuse please.

I'm no expert but if Sieger says a plugin was malfunctioning then of course this can cause the game to spit out an error and crash. I have seen it happen myself when I once tried a very old version of a plugin that I found at an even older page. I flew a bit around with it and suddenly an eroor popped up and being the patience-lacking dude I am I clicked it away and poof - crash! VO was gone
And does anyone else notice how unfriendly and unprofessional this is? If you're going to call out a bug make it private - or if it had to be done in public - don't mention names. Even if he had knowingly abused the bug it's no reason to launch RP attacks where it clearly doesn't belong. You have the RP forums for that.

Ok, this has gone on long enough. There are certain lua errors that can cause the client to crash. Performing what you can the 'Sieger maneuver' is next to impossible to reliably reproduce by a player. We are working on a fix.
