Remove crystal from lite sub

Because you're already paying.

If this isn't viable, at least give the lite subs extra crystal every day or something. There's too little difference between F2P and lite.

While we're on this topic, I suggest that crystals be renamed to something else. The name bothers me because every time I look at it, I can't help but to think of meth.

This could potentially make Guild Software liable to lawsuits. If a former drug addict sees this and relapses after thinking about meth constantly, he might sue GS for the emotional and physical damages incurred. As we all know, this wouldn't be good for business.

Forgive me if my sarcasm detector is broken, but I find this highly doubtful for two reasons:

-There is nothing about Guild's secondary currency system that promotes drug use

-Each one is responsible for his or her own actions when it comes to consumption of controlled substances

There's also the more usual definition of crystal, which is 'molecules arranged in a lattice structure'. I like the name "Crystal" as a graduate of the geophysical sciences. If one is thinking about whether or not to use crystal meth, there are probably more important things one ought to be doing than playing VO.

I remain dubiously sympathetic.

The difference between F2P and lite is that you get to play on the PC without spending $10/month. That seems like a pretty big benefit.

Hey Phaserlight, do you remember that Liebeck vs Mcdonalds case from 1990s, when that lady bought coffee, spilled it all over herself, sued Mcdonalds, and won? Mishandling her coffee is obviously her fault and her responsibility. Yet she still managed to walk away with a substantial settlement from the fast food chain king. See, it's unwise to push your luck when it comes to the justice system. They more often side with the individual rather than the corporation.

He has to be joking, Phaser...nobody could actually be that stupid.

I am not changing the name of the currency. I understand that a lot of people watched "breaking bad", but the word has reasonably referred to crystalline structures for thousands of years (from the ancient greek, krustallos). It is a generic word, and I am not concerned about liability.

Do you need Guild Software funded Ice for that burn joyless?

Let's assume I'm that lady. Even then, that case was from over 20 years ago, and any burns from the coffee spill are likely to be healed by now, eh?

From the other post and this, you seem to have a serious difficulty telling what date it is. Jokes made at other people's expense is a sign of immaturity and insecurity as well. Mom didn't discipline or teach you very well, apparently. Don't forget to thank her tomorrow for who you are today!

Well, if you are Stella Liebeck, then I want to congratulate you on making it into your hundredth year despite the best efforts of that damned clown and his bumbling minions. :P

On a more serious note, I think a lot of people get caught up in the whole "it's just hot coffee" thing and fail to realize how severely she was injured. She had third degree burns, had to spend eight days in the hospital for skin grafts, lost a fifth of her body-weight, and was left with permanent scarring. It was her own fault, of course, but it's understandable for somebody who was hurt that badly by an item of food to be upset (everybody knows it's hot, but they don't necessarily expect it to be that dangerous, especially if they normally get coffee from somewhere that serves it cooler for immediate drinking as opposed to extra-hot so it stays warm to be drunk later). Also, she was initially only asking for a pretty fair amount of money that would have only just covered her medical expenses and her daughter's loss of income due to caring for her over a few weeks. So she wasn't trying to use it as an excuse to get rich; the amounts of money only got blown up out of proportion after the lawyers got involved.

Getting back to Vendetta, the case of somebody who had a bad habit and sees words that remind him of that habit is very different from the case of somebody who is sold and mishandles a product that is actually physically dangerous of its own accord. A more analogous situation would be if Liebeck had sued Sun Microsystems because Java popped up that morning asking to update, and this caused her to want coffee, but she got burned when she clumsily spilled the coffee.
