Weapons Equality
If it is good enough for a trident it's good enough for an atlas or a moth. End the build the trident to win campaign.
Someone is butthurt that he doesn't have a Trident.
Tridents have powerful weapons because they are a capital class ship, not just a hauler.
Behemoths and Atlases are considerably faster than a Trident, and a far smaller target.
Unless you want ship equality (which is what it seems you're suggesting instead of what you claim it to be), then weapons for different classed of ships should not be in the same class.

Moar is always better.

Aren't you in TGFT Kanye?
Umm, there's really only two capship-specific weapons. Even the new Gatling Turret can be put on a 'moth...
In a moth, I think a rear facing swarm turret would be effective against a chasing pirate and a moth actually needs it more than a trident would. There's no reason for limiting turrets to tridents when we have ships with turrets. If we ever get a new bomber with turrets, a swarm turret would come in handy on that, too.
I fail to see how having a dent = win. Come kill me with your dent, I say.
I am not aware of any weapon that you can put on a trident, that you can not put on a moth or atlas.
What exactly is being suggested here?

Well, you can put a Trident Heavy Power Cell on a 'moth then outfit it with a bunch of Capital Cannon and Swarm turrets, but it's going to be practically immobile with that much mass...
Probably wants to put swarms on moth turrets.
You guys realize the cap swarms are crap right?
As compared to gems that put out 1266.66667 damage/sec compared to swarms at 510 damage/sec.
The gauss cannon or built-in blasters do better at 2700 or 4286 damage/sec respectively .

I've always felt that the ports are on the wrong side of moths anyway. I never bother with turrets on lesser ships.
The moth turrets are great. Give them a try. Gemini/Firecracker on the top and bottom and any of the energy weapons on the rear works well.
Rear gunner on an atlas is quite fun.
