Get rid of Deneb weekly reset
I would like to see each sector held by the winning faction until it's retaken either by NPC's or players either way but no reset.
There is no reset in WARS
Also I'm not sure I see a point of random NPC battles at times when there is no players in the battles, or no player has an option to initiate a war in that sector.
I mean to say that if they are not there, and not engaged in anyway why bother with an NPC war over a grid that no one even looking at the grid, nor going there, nor engaged in anyway ?
Not to say that NO ONE is looking but perhaps the smallest of numbers.
And having said that, I see no reason to bog down the system further with NPC battles where there may be NO player activity and NO one even looking at the grid.
Why not force the players to engage in the battle at least to click a sector to dispute and initiate the battle even if it's only NPC where they may not even attend. If they want to at least take a commander role and NO one has already selected a sector to begin a battle then why not forget the NPC random battles and weekly resets until someone either battles or commands a fleet to go there ?
I don't know seems like watching a TV show rather then vendetta without at least a min. required participation like click to command a fleet or something.
However, at best I would like to see the weekly reset removed and require the sector to be taken in some way instead of random coin toss that one side might win the NPC war.
It's sort of like watching a video representation of a coin toss with better graphics and hoping for your side to win.

I don't agree that this should happen, replacing this current system.
However it would be cool to have an overall total page.

This would result in the Itani never getting any border missions.
Edit: Greenwall hit the nail on the head. That's why I next to never play up there these days.

Sadly, Fluffy is correct. Most organized Serco nationalist gave up on Deneb years ago, as it is felt there is a natural imbalance. I.E. Itani have stations in sector, allowing for much faster repairs/reloads/return to fight while Serco have to jump from another system through a wormhole that, amazingly, has ZERO defences to prevent Itani players from harassing Serco returning to the field (to be absolutely clear Im not saying the Itani shouldnt do this, as its a war and its entirely possible to do this without exploiting anything other than the devs short-sightedness). This combined with points made in another thread about how the location of Deneb makes it annoying for ANYONE to participate means that itani pilots would have significant waits for missions to appear. Until the entire concept of the Deneb border war as a WHOLE is made relevant, the only purpose of conquering is to make a pretty map.
According to Inc this isnt a high priority.... admittedly im ASTOUNDED its not, as this is pretty much the only storyline related thing happening in VO.
Edit: Greenwall brings up a good point, yet another reason why Deneb is irrelevent

Without proper rewards and incentives in place, no change in Deneb is worthwhile. The OP doesn't provide for that. -1
I haven't played in a while, but I believe that Deneb would be fixed if whatever side won would move on to the next system. The Serco would go to Eo, the Itani to Guiera, and so on.

I like what Snake suggests. If Itan winning sufficiently at one point, move the battles further into serco space and if the serco win, the opposite. It could get harder to win the closer you get to capitol systems, but the stations behind the front line should be conquered by the winning team. The wh advantage should be determined by how close to the capitol system you are.
Expanding territory remains a good idea. It should not only be harder to take the next system, but should also become increasingly difficult to hold the furthest system taken.
While I think that both expanding the border conflict in this manner as well as adding incentives would be a positive thing for the game, I don't think it will kill the 'done it to death and now I just want to kill myself' problem.
I am beginning to think that VO needs more progression in the form of story telling throughout game play. This exists to a certain degree in some of the longer mission trees which sadly seem to be taken more for the end prize rather than the journey.
Otherwise, implementing the military rankings and giving players with high rank the ability to pilot or direct the capital vessels would give players something to work towards. Also diversifying what players can do to impact the conflict would help.
