Limit nation specific ship cross access.
Make it so you can not purchase your nation's specific ship, if you own any other nation's specific ship.
If you own a prom (anywhere), you should not be able to buy a valk.

-1. Enemy stations have no reason to share data about their members inventories.
if we want them to have reason, we can find a reason. don't hide behind trivial technicalities.
You're trying to piss off the longtime vet players who spent countless hours stockpiling thousands of nation specific ships while 13-POS was possible, aren't you? Believe it or not, there are such players.
You're basically telling them they should to go to each of those stations and mouse-click thousands of times to get rid of their stockpiles if they wanted to buy more valks or proms. I worry about a sudden onset of the carpal tunnel syndrome among some VO players, especially the older ones. A lawsuit wouldn't be good for business.

-1 lol.
The fact that the other nation-specific top tier ships are irreplaceable is balance enough to limit their use. The OP is excessive and punitive without any purpose other than maintaining a skewed sense of what "fair" means.
Joyless, "thousands" is a bit of a stretch of the imagination.

-1... think of a way to get pirates out of valks and I'll +1 that
Re: getting pirates out of valks, this would be my suggestion (again):

You're never going to get people out of best-in-class ships. You'll just have pirates making Itani characters. Your best bet is to give them legitimacy to their role-play and give them an avenue to fly the ships they desire at a significant cost.

greenwall, ecka used the word "thousands" to describe his stockpile. Given how long and how much he's played, I don't think it's so far fetched to be true.
@Savet I made my position clear on your thread and players would create itani alts to not be limited by the limitations in your thread.... think of a way to limit pirate access to the top of line national warships and I'd +1... your suggestion did not do that
That's my point. You're not going to do that. Create a restriction and people will socially engineer a way around it. Military service? You'll have a bunch of military pirates. The only real solution is to create a true pirate play-style.
The only people that have any reason to object, are the very people that are abusing the system.
The only people that have any reason to get pissed, are the people that will have that same said abuse limited.
All the players that do not have stockpiles of "other" nation specific ships, should speak up now, or be drowned out by old vets that have no consideration for fair play.
Level the playing field. If anyone has access to "other" nation specific ships, everyone else should have that same option.
P.S. I am UIT, and I have valks and proms. I would suffer as much from this change as all the other people that stockpiled.

Roda, the point your are missing is that the devs have historically done nothing to retroactively alter people's possessions in game to fit the current restrictions. I'm fairly certain the reason has to do with both they don't think it's a good idea and, even if they did, it would take away precious development time better spent elsewhere.
Aside from that you haven't really given a good argument for why your suggestion is needed over the current system. You have no way of showing how many ships people have stored up in reality, all you can do is point towards people's use of those "illegal" (for lack of a better term) ships in game. And, given that you don't seem to be playing much, it's no surprise that you are not aware that large majority of vets who have stock of unobtainable ships rarely fly them.
Even Ecka, who supposedly has "thousands" of proms, never flies them anymore.
You are trying to solve an non-issue by extraordinarily excessive means. Not gonna happen.

the suggestion is self balancing. it only effects you, if it needs to. if you don't fly them, you don't need them in stock. if you have them, you should not have the alternatives. the systems is self balancing, and self correcting. the fact that you are against it, is in itself evidence that it is needed. only people that have something to lose are against it.
i doubt this would require very much development time, but let a dev chime in anytime.

I'm trying to imagine the problem this solution attempts to solve. If people aren't flying their stockpile, why do we care if it eats up their station storage?
Additionally, your argument is a variation of the "No true Scotsman" logical fallacy that attempts to dissuade criticism by invalidating your detractors' opinions.

if it is not a problem, then the suggestion does not change that. so the fact that anyone is against it, is evidence that they are expecting it to change something. more to the point: claiming that players do not fly "other" nation specific ships is contrary to common observation. lots of UIT fly valks, often. some almost exclusively. so who are you kidding. you are opposed to change, based on an argument that it will not change anything.
I'm against forced castration whether I intend to have children or not.
Roda, if you don't like people having ships they "shouldn't" have, just kill them. By not advocating murder, you are directly opposing the purpose of this game. Only carebears would support the OP.
-1 to this
And another -1 to wasting any more time debating about stuff that only wastes devlopment time. Can we finally let the nation ships be? Not only did it cause much more problems and imbalnce to limit them, it also raised a lot of silly debates. Since the developers seem to have made a decision we should start forgetting this topic. It is not important enough to warrant any measures.

Once ship trading is implemented, nations will be dead and we can get on with business of flying whatever the hell we want. Or you can create an alt now and fly the ship you like for whatever your RP is and totally ignore nationalistic values...today!
