Spontaneous Server Spawned Events
In the General thread Ore' said "Regarding more community events, there should be a channel devoted to on-the-fly missions, similar to 201 and 202. Spawn a few cap ships in b8 or wherever. I like this approach to missions as it's more spontaneous and keeps everyone on their toes."
I was wondering if the server could be programmed that if there are over a certain number of players logged in events similar to the following could be spawned (not during the lower populated times)....
1) UIT never has the opportunity to enjoy having their borders in Latos or Edras blockaded like the Itani and Serco. Rare, but Occasional, blockades by NPC pirates with multiple dent support could be fun :)
2) Multiple hive queen spawns at WH's in grey and at borders with their escorts (all hostile)
3) NPC Pirates Spawn at grey WH's (edited to add: with dent support)

This would be awesome. +1
+1 but I would recommend hive ships attacking station sectors spontaneously, like a critical hive skermish. Assaults and guardians would attack all ships in the area, with an offensive queen similar to the rogue queen mission. The incursion would end when the queen is destroyed.
+1 to what savet suggests :) but at wh's not at monitored stations. But, conq stations ok. I think tung, tpg, etc, stations have the cappies to fend of the queens and they wouldn't attack there.
Kinda like listening to the police radio. Thanks for moving this topic to it's appropriate place biretak

More action that catches you by surprise!

+1 yep
At the station would create more impact, and be more realistic IMO. It also creates incentive to go defend it, but any dynamic event that comes to players is a good thing.
Stations should definitely be included. They should also be in a state of lock down / unusable until the npc threat is removed. Meaning players can launch from, but cannot dock with or respawn at those stations. Wormhole sectors should be unusable or at the very minimum have a high likelyhood of death for players jumping in or out. Otherwise there is no point and we should just play with the toys we have.
Fluffy highlights why wormhole events wouldn't create an impact. Its too easy to jump out/in and there isn't really a good rp to disable a wormhole while an event is active.
A station on the other hand...imagine the following:
Newblet jumps into the sector with a moth, dies, raises a call to arms on 100 to help him liberate the station and reclaim the cargo.
Any number of guilds spring to action helping clear the infestation.
If he can't find free help, he can engage mercs to liberate his station.
All those mercenary role players finally have something to merc.
There could be guilds dedicated to clearing hive incursions.
There is added risk to trading that doesn't involve PvP, for players who don't want PvP.

+1 to stations if stations could be put under lock down as fluffy describes. Otherwise I think killing the queens and their escorts would be too easy with a station to rep at right there. I was hoping really hostile queens and escorts at wh's would keep ships from getting past (even dents).
Agreed. I was originally in favor of docking ability but it makes sense from a security perspective to lock down the base until the crisis is past.... It would be too easy to dock hop with swarms without lockdown.
