Some tweaks for the next update
- Remove the manufacturing limit for BioCom TU Mines
- Reduce the weight of the Concussion Rail Gun to 2000kg
- Bring back the mission for the Xang Xi-Self Propelled Concussion Mine
- Give the Raptor UDV an implemented Cargo and Addon Scanner
Most of the above listed tweaks have been mentioned lately and I've listed those that I think to be most reasonable.
- The manufacturing limit for the TU Mines is very annoying. Especially people who manufacture to sell lose a big part of possible income. It also is not dangerous enough to justify a lifetime limit. It is very rarely used and most usually lost in Player to Player Combat.
- The Concussion Railgun is a really cool weapon. Nobody uses it anyway, because it is simply MUCH too heavy. I propose a reduction by half it's weight. It will be a very decent weapon that has to be manufactured.
- I've seen the Xang Xi mine on the wiki. It seems to have a little better stats than the normal Conussion Mine. I've never gotten around to unlock it back when the mission existed. But I think making it available for manufacturing at low requirements for newbies can be cool.
- Somebody had suggested the built in scanners for the UDV and I think that is a great idea. Rather than tweaking its stats more, we'd choose another path to make it useful. Having all three useful scanners built in will make it a superior ship for piracy, scouting and storm combat.

while you are at lets just put Cargo scanners and Addon scanners in every ship im ok with removing the TU mine Limit +1 to that -1 for the cargo scanner addon scanner for the UDV its not a pirate ship or not ment to be

+1
There's just no reason for the limit.
- Reduce the weight of the Concussion Rail Gun to 2000kg
+1
But the stats are kind of rubbish, so it needs a bit of an overhaul. This is is a step in the right direction though.
- Bring back the mission for the Xang Xi-Self Propelled Concussion Mine
Not sure how I feel about this, while it is a unique type of item (a good thing), it wasn't all that useful except for running away (and honestly you wouldn't load this over other measures).
- Give the Raptor UDV an implemented Cargo and Addon Scanner
-1
Partially because this ship already is one-of-a-kind, but also because it's quite powerful, given the Thrust update. It already has a storm radar extender, so I don't see the need to give it any more.

the UDV still sucks and serves little purpose...
+1 scanners added to make it truly a desirable craft to fly

First two make sense.
The XX SPCM doesn't really make any sense. I can't think of a scenario where I'd want to charge at someone firing something with concussive effect that I would choose this weapon instead of a sunflare or jackhammer (depending on whether it is small or large port).
Adding more scanners is just a gimmick until we find the balance that makes the ship as cool as it looks.

Add-on and Cargo scanners are not a gimmick -- they are quite useful, especially for a pirate.
If we give it additional scanners now, said scanners will be used as a reason not to further balance it. It makes more sense to tweak the stats and then add additional scanners if they are warranted. I'm not saying they wouldn't be useful, but I'd rather see the ship tweaked a little further first.
I'd rather it have add-on and cargo scanners first, since any tweaks are not going to add up to the ship not sucking.
+1 to the first two, but I think the XX flare needs a buff before it's worth the mission. Give it a ridiculously high amount of concussion and it'll be a fun toy to play with. +1 to adding back the tree just for the flavor anyway.
The UDV is definitely a capable ship, but it's often sluggish with the gat/jack loadouts people throw on it, and it's too thick to match a corvult or something similar when it has megaposis loaded. I haven't personally observed how the recent thrust buff has helped it in a fight. It does, however, chase very well, so scanners would improve its utility for pirates, privateers, and anyone else bent on intercepting something.

The reason why I suggested the implemented scanners was simply because I stopped believing in more useful tweaks for the Raptors stats. That way, with all scanners implemented, it would be an exceptional ship in another area.
If the devs wanted to make the Raptor UDV very good at Combat, they wouldn't have only given it +10 Thrust. Making it very decent would require atleast an up of +70 of Thrust or reducing it's size of profile atleast by 25%, the last being preferred as it will still fall to any good or even average flare pilot.
Right now I still have to agree with Nahin. I'm quite sure that an average Corvult pilot would always beat a better pilot if said better pilot got in a UDV with dual MPs.
As for the Xang Xi Concussion "Mine". I want that back because it would not only be a funny tool in pirate distracting but also for PvP Training. If it was possible to produce it en mass, people could use it to easily train flare evasion without always wrecking the newbie in a matter of seconds.

hmmm. That would at least be an explanation for some of the extra bulk.
Changed concussion rails to 2000, removed lifetime TU mine limits (daily limits still apply), for tonight's release, 1.8.332.
Considering the scanner tweaks for the UDV, but not for tonight. Also open to bringing back the concussion mine, but not right this second.

Bringing back? We still have concussion mines...
Was there a different one that you guys got rid of once upon a time?

xang xi launcher -- read the OP ARF
Yeah, I just re-read the OP and realized what he was talking about. I never think of that as a "mine" since it's just a rocket with a big concussion blast.
It'd be neat if it actually launched mines that flew for a few hundred meters then stopped in space.

Thanks for buffing the weight on the concrail. However without concussion it's just a curiosity piece as opposed to something useful in game.
Has anyone tried a UDV with dual conc-rails yet?
concrail grid is 12... so no. Even if you could load them with a normal powercell it's like driving with a full cargo hold full of ore.
Xang Xi Self Propelled Concussion Mine Launcher is now available (mission can be re-taken: "Rush job! Ores and minerals needed", once per week, Xang Xi Research stations, Respect standing).
