keychain management.

The whole keychain management system is getting very messy. Plugins from various guilds and players help, but it still looks and feels inelegant. These suggestions are not new, but I think they are worth repeating.

Three simple suggestions.

Firstly make [GUILD] a valid entry on the owner or user key. Simply anyone with that guild tag is on the key without having to list a large number of names. Individual names would still be valid to cover the unguilded or particular members of guilds.

Secondly, make keys which have not been valid for a period of time expire and vanish from the system. I suggest a couple of months as a reasonable period to start with. I know they can be deleted manually, but as time goes on this will become an onerous task for anyone who is not regularly in game.

Thirdly, put the valid keys at the top of the list so that you don't have to scroll through a list of several hundred keys to find the ones that matter.

Ok, thanks for distilling this down into the core, crucial needs. I'll do what I can to bump the priority of this, although it may be a little bit yet.

Wow. Someone complains about the key system and Inc actually responds. That's new. No offence Inc, but you responded within 72 hours of the OP... very fast!

It's not new. He sweeps through the forum every so often as time permits and responds to stuff where warranted.

As far as automatically deleting old keys, maybe the ability to enable/disable this and/or set the number of days.

Yeah, it's more about lucky timing than anything else... There have been much more clear, straightforward descriptions of what is wrong with the key system than this thread...

I agree that davejohn's first and third suggestions are critical. The second one, not so much as draugath already made an easier way to delete keys.
