No-mining if some object obstruct mining beam
+1. Mining isn't interactive enough. This is only a small thing, but it would be a start.

Yes, but that's a different suggestion, and this one would still be worthwhile even if the devs found the other unacceptable.
If an object goes between the mining beam and the asteroid, the mining beam should automatically lose the roid target. The (filthy) miner should have to select the asteroid and fire again to re-activate mining. Ok for damaging the object crossing the beam.
I used to ram miners to increase the distance between them and the roid to interrupt mining operation when i didnt want to lose any standing for the kill.

I don't much see the point in committing dev resources to fix something that most people do while afk.
This would make mining rotating asteroids even more of a pain by having to restart each time one's ship gets bumped. At most I would improve the graphics so that it doesn't 'look' so appalling. But again, I would make this a 'soon' fix so that it will never happen in our collective lifetimes.
