My thought on trident docks
My understanding is that a long range goal is to have all undocked ships remain persistent (and vulnerable) in space.
Now while I would like to see one capital station in each nations primary capital system provide full docking capabilities, I would very much prefer to see external docking as an option at key stations such as the conq stations, F6, C4 & N15 and a random assortment of other stations in each nations space.

Knowing how things work with VO development... external docking at key stations seems a bit far fetched.
Best we could hope for are some capship stations in nation spaces and if they are placed in nation capitol systems - that will effectively remove most of the Tridents from greyspace.
I just can't see Itani dent owners going from Odia or Sedina to Itan every day to dock their dents before logging off.

Understood. This is simply my vision for the way I would like to see it implemented.
Maybe we have a few more stations that allow full docking, however, Odia and Sedina are still pretty close to Latos.

Keep Latos M7, add one in UIT space (Dau maybe), 2 each in Serco and Itani space (one at or near each end).

No it won't. As long as they're useful in greyspace they'll be brought to greyspace.

Want dents to be safe, bump up the shields or have Inc tell everyone it's VERY RUDE to kill a dent while the owner is napping.
Option 2 may actually intice griefers to do it, so maybe make a dent sitting buisness?

I expect/hope trident owners will be permitted to allow someone else they trust to pilot their dent before they become persistent. I could easily see deals being made allowing someone to use the dent for a certain amount of credits with part of the cost being to park it in m7 when done with it. I'd happily park a dent in M7 for the opportunity to use it and even pay someone for the privilege. Heck, I'd even log on the next day and move it to where that person wants it at a particular time the next day if they like :).
+1 to the OPs suggestion of external docking. The size of the front/nose of the dent looks like it fits into the entrance of a station. Why cant dents have the ability to latch the nose of their dent into the stations docking entrance??? Seems like a simple solution to me. The station should limit how long it lets a dent use an entrance, though, and the dent should still be vulnerable to attack as most if it is outside the station. Sheilds should also be automatically lowered when the nose is docked, as well. It could also take a short period of time to the shields to come back after undocking just to add a little risk ;)

It does fit in the station dock, and I have had the hilarious pleasure of watching trs attempt to dislodge a formerly docked trident from a regular station before they fixed that bug.
@Savet lol, wish I could have been there for that :)
But, it sounds like a bug that should have been made into a feature.
