Getting back to the OP, I agree with tarenty -- optionality would be important. It would also be nice if I could designate which user keys are even permitted to receive such notifications. Just because I'm willing to let somebody dock with my ship doesn't mean I want them kept informed about my current whereabouts. I shouldn't have to constantly add and remove them from the roster to accomplish that.
