Speed and Energy bars should be placed somewhere else
I personally think that that there should be no HuD.
Just an opinion, move along...
PS Yes. I do know how turn the hud off. No need to educate me.

Hello,
I think the speed and energy bars are NOT well placed.
In my humble opinion they would fit better each on the left and right sides of the tiny map down at the bottom.
I think the place they are now is very annoying.
Of course this is just my opinion and a suggestion.
For my taste I wish this change is made. :)
Great game engine btw.

I disagree here, when im in a duel i keep a close eye on both those meters, which is good, because they aren't far from the action =)
Perhaps it could be user definable, sheesh, the whole hud could be made of seperate, user positionable components.
Or perhaps add some user definable transparency?
asphy

Yeah, I agree with asphyxia.
I find them very nicely positioned.

Well... it seems my opinion is in disadvantage now.
When I am in a fight it jus takes my eyes to move 0,2 milimeters down to see the bottom of the screen so I dont find that too far to be seen perfectly in a fight...
Anyways...I guess I am suggesting this because every other space simulation I played had that type of bars down at the bottom and I got used to it ;)
I think the customizable hud is a very nice option too, and transparency sounds also cool. I would prefer to be able to move the bars down though.

They ARE in a good place. It's a matter of opinion though. Customizable HUDs are on the way though. So don't go crazy just yet.
Ok, ok...

Costomizable HUDs would rock. But as for now i like the speed/energy meters where they are. Now i wish there was a more comprehenive HUD... One that had more specific stats, like direction, location, target sheilds, target energy. Also, the player stats/cargo sections need to have smaller text and take up less space. They should be efficient, and small.
i think they're well-placed as well (chime in with the chorus =D)
seriously, though. the closer they are to the action (as stated), the better you can view them.
i mean, there are many unwanted killings happening because in a fight you can't observe the chat window. why is that? because it's too far from the center!
now don't get me wrong, i'm not saying, the text should go in the middle of the screen, i'm simply advocating that the two most important gauges (apart from damage) should be put as close to the predominant center of action as possible.
