Oh and to add to this, either A) make /explode do DOUBLE damage as it's an intentional decision, or B) make normal explosions from death be half the ship's HP and /explode full HP.
(sorry, seems konqi doesn't like edit this message. :))

I don't really like furball's idea...I could take a prom into a vult war and destroy everybody...it is too easy to abuse.
However I like the timer for /explode...make it more RP.
Overloading the engine/battery/whatever takes 5 seconds.

The intended use for /explode was for when you get stuck or go too far out but it's being used to harass and irritate. Adding a 10 second timer to it would allow it to be used as it was intended while reducing abuse.
Adding crazy amounts of damage to it will mean people will abuse it a lot more however a fancy screamer type effect would be great. :D

I like the idea for a timer.
I don't like Furball's idea since it will just make people use big fat ships like Rags as torpedoes. It diminishes the RP aspect of the game.
I very much dislike Arlote's point about damage infliction being the primary credit for a kill. Kill stealing is part of the game. If I beat you to within an inch of your life and the took you to a hospital and walked away, I would be guilty of battery. If the janitor later came by and unplugged your life support and killed you, he would be a murderer even though I did all the work. The one who strikes the killing blow is the killer. Everyone else is an acccessory. You idea also makes it much easier for miners to boost their stats. After all, if someone was to L-mine the station and bring someone down to 37% and they were then killed by someone, the miner would get the credit for having done little to no work.

/me slaps Magus
I still think damage infliction should be recorded, either in accuracy or average damage percent for each PK. I want to know who is the most lethal player, not the player who steals the most kills or whatever.

I think that's funny as hell
