Allow guilds to purchase 3rd Lieutenant Slot
Hey all,
Could have sworn I posted this before but cant find it in search so here it goes.
Basically I'm asking Incarnate and crew to consider implementing a system where guilds can purchase a third Lieutenant slot using the guild bank. Currently there is nothing you can purchase exclusively using these guild banks and by now guilds have stored up an excessive amount of credits that are waiting to be used on anything really. A third LT could have large benefits for guilds, allowing more people able to recruit.
Of course this should come with a hefty cost perhaps in the range of 100 million credits (give or take). This is enough to provide a hefty credit sink (think if ten biggest guilds buy it that's 1bil taken out of the economy) but also low enough to provide a nice goal for new guilds to strive towards.
Guilds have kind of been left to the wayside by the devs. I get it Inc that you want it so that a solo player can do anything a guild can do but the fact of the matter is that guilds provide a lot of rp and content in this game so alterations like this, although small, can be a big addition. (Most space based MMO's have great structures and options for guilds/corps and it's actually a draw for people to play those games. See EVE for instance). Also if all those crystal players realize the benefits of joining a guild maybe it will promote them to subscribe.
This would be a good benefit to guilds, provide a large credit sink, and allow guilds to finally purchase something strictly using the banks. What do you say all?

Cool idea -- specificially, and generally. +1
+1 to more flexibility to guild power structure.
-1 for charging for something the game has no right to control over.

Customisable Guilds is better, charging for it is NOT cool.
This is supposed to be something in the interim until someday when Guild gets a chance to redo the guild system. 100 million credits for a guild is really nothing. The game needs more credit sinks...
+1 finally someone to suggest this. And maybe to add ranks such as captain, 1st officer, sergant, etc... more ranks more better roleplay...More ranks for both military and civilian.
+1 for customizeable guild structures.
-100 for charging for the option
-100 for charging for the option
+1 to the OP. I think charging is a great idea, pay for the extra logistics and all. Maybe throw in some RP about registering with the various nations to be recognized. Credit sinks and goals for new guilds are things we need.
General customizable guild structure is far more complicated than this suggestion is aiming at, and is prohibitive due to the effort required on the devs' side. Leave that to a different suggestion thread.

I'd be fine with the game charging a monthly fee based on the size of the guild or something like that, but not based on the type of power structure.

This discussion (of sorts) has been had before: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/27743?page=1. (like most things in VO - we seem to be very good at necromancy ;))
Just add 2 LT slots and then forget about any other guild enhancements for a while.
Perhaps the number and variety of ranks should be dependent on the guild population. A small guild has little need for 4 LTs, but a large guild would benefit.
I think that may have been the point for charging for the extra slots. A small guild really won't be able to afford (or want to afford) the money needed to support the extra slots. A larger guild could easily manage it.
Yes keller. That and it would give new guilds a reason to start working together to build up your bank. Make this new lt (or multiple lts) an achievement of guilds rather than being seen as a detriment.
Skinwalker- I dunno i feel that small guilds need as many lts as they can get to build population up.
Why is it just two LT's anyways? I've seen more than two LT's before in an accident by whistler (which was later fixed) so I know it can be done without breaking the game and hopefully it wouldn't require too much extra coding.
I just feel that people tend to stick around the universe a bit more if they are in a guild rather than solo. Its not the case ALL of the time I understand but the more active guilds can get then the more active AND dynamic the game will get... at least thats what I hope.
