ion storms
I think there to many ion storms and a quicker way to get to places would be handy for us new starters.
Ion storms are an essential part of the game. They make travel more fun and entertaining by adding a minimal element of random risk. Eventually, Ion storms will in fact give way to 'fogged' sectors that are set up in such a way as to force players to fly through them in order to reach an exit point towards their desired destination. This is meant to create 'choke points' which don't currently exist in game <cough> wormhole sectors </cough> which can be used by pirates, nationalists or general evil doers to set up traps or blockades by which they can rob or kill players that attempt to fly through them. Have you seen the UDV Raptor? It's going to make the X1 and SCP look like kiddie toys once that rolls out! Or so I've been told....
Alternatively, you can plot around asteroid sectors and avoid most storms. There is probably even a plugin or two out there that can help with this.

This has been complained about time and time again. These ion stoRms aRe easy to avoid and they actually help out in tRaining combat. No Reason to Remove them oR make them less fRequent.
Ok when your new and u constantly get caught in ion storms its very frustrating if your killed, however an experienced player with a better ship will handle this easy, ok then what aboyt this when automatically routing to a place should be more detailed how long it will be with possible 4 ion storms or alternative route which has no ion storms but additional 10 mins on journey ect so instead of 1 automatic route having two routes?
The capital systems where all new players begin are so far as I am aware, storm free. After that, the game increases in risk.
A new player in an ec89 with a free battery should be able to outrun just about any bots in storm sectors that they encounter. Ion storms are randomly generated in asteroid sectors. They never occur at wormholes or stations (sadly). With the sole exceptions of two of the conquerable stations.
Perhaps something should be added to the training sequence about ion storms, but as I said above, plotting around the asteroid sectors noted on your nav map will eliminate almost all likelihood of being caught in one. There are very few places that are surrounded in such a way that you cannot completely avoid the asteroid sectors. Also, not all asteroid sectors are marked. Particularly the further out you get from your capital system. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that some unexpected aspects that allow for new player discovery is a bad thing.
I understand it can be frustrating when you've hit 4 storms in a row just trying to fly through a system. Talk to us when you get to to 6+ :p
In summary, if you don't want to get caught in storms, plot around. The time consumed by doing this is usually pretty negligible. Also, if you have an auto jump plugin, it becomes a bit mindless.
Besides, if you don't like storms now, you're really not going to like the fogged sector implementation that's coming.
Again, there are plugins that assist with this like NavComp that allow you to record hazards which get plotted around.

Valent Assaults are all over an EC-89 or MkI Revenant like flies on a turd. But either way, those slow ships make the pathetically short (<=3000m) trips to the storm's exit seem long and boring.
If you need to move some heavy cargo, scout ahead with a fast ship like a Centurion first. Then you can plot a course avoiding all the storms. Like Fluffy said, there's even a plugin you can use to automate that.

Ion storms are fine. Flying an xc (fully loaded) through ion storm is a peace of cake (on mobile).
"or alternative route which has no ion storms but additional 10 mins on journey"
It doesn't take an additional 10 minutes to go around storms. All you do is open the nav window and plot multiple waypoints through empty sectors to go around the asteroids. (On PC, you hold the shift key to plot multiple waypoints; I don't know how you do it on mobile.) When you jump into one of those empty sectors... it's empty. Which means you can immediately jump out to the next empty sector as soon as your energy hits 25%, which only takes a few seconds (plus the sector load time and jump animation). Some systems are complex enough to require many waypoints if you absolutely don't want storms, but most systems can be navigated relatively safely with just one or two extra waypoints.

Rallen, for a really good time, you should try it with a full load of Chaos Swarms or AGT ;)
Thanks for the correction ARF. It's been a very long time since I created a new character.
