Bumps should not mean hostile
Bumps between players or between a player and an npc should not create a 'hostile' status for the player. The only real use for this is to exploit the npc player owned bot aspect that allows someone to bump a trident and then let their Furies attack the trident without causing any faction reaction, like release of the strike force or faction loss.
Just docking with a capital ship in a battle is enough to change the status and is completely ridiculous as it mucks up targeting as long as a player remains near the capital vessel.
There is no rational why a simple bump should do this.

go tell dis lady ...
Actually, there is rationale, but it's effectively obsolete (though technically still valid). You see, ship to ship collisions used to cause significant damage, so it made sense to flag people as hostile for causing damage. Then a bunch of babies whined about it and instead of fixing it properly or ignoring the whiners, the devs just nerfed ship to ship collision damage to hell. But, importantly, they did not totally remove it. They just made it incredibly tiny, so that you normally don't even notice it. But you technically are still taking and causing damage (though I imagine shields absorb it). Thus the current seemingly nonsensical behavior.
+1 to not counting bump damage as an attack for hostility determination purposes.

what no more bumping enemy player tridents/XCs and triggerng a fury attack? awwwwww
-1 ramming is still damage, and it's the only way to get some NPCs like Furies to attack a target. Without that, they're useless.
Very small bumps don't trigger this anymore. The devs already fixed that.
