You know, most of the people I run into who fight for a bit and then run away are using valks, not hounds. I hardly ever run into people who screw around with a hound, and when I do? They turn out to be completely incompetent losers who I can pretty much ignore as I go about my fights, because they're so busy ensuring they don't get scratched that they're incapable of hitting anybody. Swarms are very much get-fired-at-and-forget weapons. :)
Pizzasgood, you don't fly heavy ships very often do you?
I don't see a problem with hounds being effective against people who are trying to use a cargo ship as a battle platform.
The Ragnarok isn't a cargo ship, but it soaks up swarms like a sponge. So does the Hornet.
Both of those are heavy bombers...and I would assert that one should not be sitting still in a heavy bomber. I have found that as long as you are moving in a forwardish direction, you can escape swarms fairly easily with a liberal application of turbo.
MkI-IV Warthogs soak up swarms like a sponge too. So do Revenants.
Actually, just about anything except for very lightly equipped small fighters and top-tier ship variants do if you get up in their face with it, which the new Greyhound excels at

What's wrong with ships soaking up swarms? I quite like when that happens.
Apparently they're get-fired-at-and-forget weapons?
with the hound's current thrust, it hauls a swarm launcher around like mass isnt a thing. :P

Sure, swarms are mildly effective against heavy ships. So what? When you're in a heavy ship, it doesn't matter whether they're using a greyhound or just a hog2, because you aren't catching up with it anyway. If you are in a ship that could catch up with a fleeing hog2, then you're in a ship that can mostly ignore swarms.
As for firing swarms right in your face, when that happens, you die. Your ability to catch them afterward doesn't matter, since there isn't an afterward.

Rails and blasters will actually hit a fleeing Hog2.
Oh yeah? Well a Greyhound will hit fleeing rails and blasters.
That's exactly the point of this thread. It accelerates too quick, even when loaded with very heavy weapons.
I think there is a significant difference between a ship being annoyingly good at things and a ship being so out of whack that it ruins the game. The hound is the former. Nerfing it will just make VO more vanilla.
