Caphips Damage and blowable dense roid sectors
This suggestion requires to have desctructible asteroids, and moving asteroids on a trajectory.
A collision with an asteroids would cause hull damage to any caphips. Capship shields should not proctect fully the capship from collision damage.
If a capship wants to get through a dense asteroid field it must create a safe path by destroying the roids with its guns or have it destroyed by its escort.

+1 if affects all ships, not just capital vessels.
Already implemented on other ships, just throw yourself on a roid and see for yourself :p
stop whining and start building your own capship so you can stop suggesting crap that makes trident flyers feel less cool.
If ye weren't such an incultured newb ye would have recognized the feature from descent freespace game series, where protectin' capship from asteroids was a very fun mission to do and it would nicely increase cooperation in vo.

I don't see this happening in the near feature. Circling Asteroids that can br destroyed seem to not fit well in the way the Universe works right now.
