UIT and military ships

Sep 04, 2014 Serious.Person link
The idea is plain and simple and makes sense. I've ever wondered since the update why that was not implemented anyway: If a UIT is going to take part in the border conflict and fights on behalf of the Itani or Serco he should be given access to their military ships being the Valk or Prom.

That means the UIT Pilot has to fullfill the following requirements to buy the military ships:

- Respect +600 with the Nation he fights for
- signed up for military for said faction

Please consider this. I think if a UIT decides late to take part in the military he should be given this opportunity at the very least.

I will agree in the future, when the military system has been modified to require active participation to maintain rank. For now, however, I'll have to disagree.

It's a possibility, but I'm not sure. In the real-world, joining a military as a non-citizen usually means you are unable to become a commissioned or warrant officer, which basically precludes you from flying 40-million-dollar airplanes and things like that.

It is likely that the UIT will be prevented from upper level ranks as well. But, we might come up with a way to hand out proms or valks purely as a part of the military mission, which then requires their participation to receive another ship, etc. But not necessary as a privately purchasable item.

I am one of the few people who actually likes the new faction changes. That being said: in Inc's example the military (the govt) is the one buying the ships. I'm sure if a merc was willing to pay for his own plane, the military would let them fly it.

So please just implement player to player ship trade, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

Inc, that might make sense once you guys implement things like ranks.
As it is right now, there's not even a badge for the "Hi, I joined the military" accomplishment flag, let alone ranks.

+1 to being able to buy high-end ships if part of military, and yes some ranks need to be implemented, it's more incentive to being active in military maneuvers
