Hide/Evade - Sneak Attack
We already have occlusion where an asteroid blocks your ship showing up on radar.
Rabii is suggesting something different than what already exists... and I think it's a cool idea.
+1 to radar stealth via close proximity to roids... just not for capships.

Yeah you can hide behind asteroids, but other players can still tell that you're in the sector and what ship you have. They just can't target you if you're on the opposite side of the roid.
He's not talking about hiding behind asteroids -- he's talking about dissappearing from radar if you are right against them. i.e. if you are resting on the side of the asteroid facing your enemy, they wouldn't see you on radar.
And Rabii, there are thousands of GREAT suggestions that go unnoticed and undone because of lack of resources. It has nothing to do with how many people think it's a great idea.

Heh. I'd actually thought that this sort of thing was the idea behind occlusion, otherwise, what is the point? I'd just chalked it up as a work in progress. The concept behind the suggestion is good though.
Unless your ship had some kind of special paint or surface treatment, a metal ship hull against a rocky or dusty asteroid would stick out like a sore thumb on radar. There's space probes that use radar to determine different compositions of rocks on the moon and asteroids.
An old suggestion, and good suggestion if you don't consider VO's present mechanics. But if one remembers the sector list, one realizes how pointless this suggestion and the present radar occlusion mechanic are.
Kill the sector list, then worry about the mechanics of stealth.

Not showing up on radar = stealth
