I don't think taking away the LTS benefit is a good idea. ;)
If the Greyhound's new stats are a problem, lets address the problem instead of working around it.

So... only pirates and griefers should be able to play the running game? I assure you, if you see me in a Greyhound, I am not a trader at that moment of my game play.
I'm either
1) using it for station defense
2) traveling
3) chasing down some a##hole that pissed me off until they hole up in a station until I leave.
Just because I choose to play the role of trader does not limit my in game participation. You don't like me running across space in a Greyhound, well that's a bit rough for you isn't it? But then, it puts us back in the same old situation when I just flew, and still fly, a hog 2 before the Greyhound came out.
All you'll inspire with this is for me to periodically tank my standing so that I can replenish my supply. I play to my advantage, not to someones concept of how things should be.
Edit: Also, putting restrictions on who can buy the Greyhound undermines the current promotion of GS offering the Camo Edition to people who pledge long term subscriptions. Perhaps general purpose use is not what the Good Doctor intended when he first requested the Greyhound, but it seems to me to be what was meant by the Dev's when they added it, as is demonstrated by their use of it in promoting the game to all long term players.

The Hound was always intended to be a faction exclusive ship like the Valk or Prom, albiet filling a different niche than nation-specific combat queens. There's nothing wrong with the Hound's stats any more than there's something wrong with the Valk being an excellent light fighter or the SCP being a terrifyingly effective tank. The problem lies in it being easily accessible to anyone who's gained enough unloseable Corvus standing.

Cute, but stupid. Figures, considering the source. By this logic, we should do away with nations and faction exclusivity...something we've all been clamoring for for ages. You want a Hound? Don't just step outside the role of trader on a whim - dedicate yourself to the role of pirate. Just like you dedicate yourself to the role of Serco/Itani for a SCP/X1.

i'm only ok with this if there is a greyspace faction added. Gray Space and its offerings have always been available to those who have risked doing business there... why suddenly corvus must start hating uit/serco/itani needs more explanation.

Where have the devs said this?

Nope, Corvus should be uit exclusive not your home nation.
Big D, you intended the Greyhound to be an exclusive pirate ship when you recommended it. However, it's acceleration and drain make it ideal for quick response to non pirate activities as well. Everything the dev's have done so far suggest to me that the Greyhound is meant to be available to anyone with sufficient Corvus standing.
I also don't buy into your "Evil Only' image of Corvus. From the VO Wiki "Corvus, while not a corporation in any legal sense, certainly has a tangible economic impact on activities within the UIT, and the universe as a whole. This black market cluster of stations has become a major haven for pirate activity, mercenaries and corporations who simply wish to avoid Senate oversight."
This description makes Corvus sound rather more involved in the the economics and by default politics of the VO universe than the 'pirates only' club that you seem to be promoting. Nor does it suggest the necessity of any direct or open conflict with UIT.

Sounds pretty disreputable to me:
"This black market cluster of stations has become a major haven for pirate activity, mercenaries and corporations who simply wish to avoid Senate oversight.""
In other words, anybody known to deal with Corvus is going to be stigmatized. If you are flying a Corvus Greyhound, you are clearly dealing with Corvus. If a simple mutual exclusion is not implemented, then instead any time a non-grey faction sees you flying a Greyhound, Corvult, or Cormaud, you should take an immediate faction penalty sufficient to drop you from Admired to Neutral. After a fifteen minute cooldown, if you are spotted again, you take another penalty, and so on.

The UIT senate isn't exactly a pristine example of integrity either. Corvus Holo Disks sell for a lot in Dau. No spoofers or blockers needed to make it through the borders...
Okay guys, let's remember that Corvus is a mercenary group, not necessarily a pirate group, though they do commonly pirate. Also, there is no reason for other nations other than UIT to specifically hate Corvus.

The 'is Corvus staying as-is or becoming a true pirate faction' debate has gone on forever, and my understanding is that we're more likely to see a new 'Evil Co.' faction/group than a change in Corvus's nature.
That said, there's no reason other than VO's prior/current limitations that the Hound belongs at Corvus. They already have the CV and CorMaud. When an Evil Co. is introduced, the Hound should be migrated, as I've previously suggested. Making the Hound native -600 or lower would be a good interim step.

Funny, your mom used the same nickname for me. Anyway, your point is irrelevant. The X-1's awesome stats make it ideal for non-Itani combat activities, too. The SCP's awesome stats make it ideal for non-Serco combat activities, too. We still have faction exclusivity because it makes sense in a game that purports to be more than SpaceQuake.

Wait, let me get this straight. They "commonly pirate", and yet there's no reason people should hate them?
Note that while it's true that the UIT are the most focused on trade, trade heavily impacts everybody in the universe. Both nations depend on the UIT. If the UIT suffer, everybody suffers. Prices go up, and now the Serco and Itani's idiotic war becomes even more expensive to perpetuate, further increasing the strain on all of their populace. Either they won't be able to afford as much equipment and more soldiers will die, or taxes will go up and more citizens will be oppressed. Either way, they are not going to be happy with whoever caused the prices to go up, nor with anybody who is clearly funneling money and resources into those people's hands. (And it's not like pirates only target the UIT, either.)
Maybe they hold back from outright attacking Corvus directly, since they know they can't actually kill it successfully, but there is no way in hell they'd tolerate people blatantly flying Corvus ships inside their nation's borders.

It's silly for everyone to have corvus stuff. Let me just go grab my Jolly Roger and lead the Itani military in a government sanctioned parade in it, no one will mind, Really I swear.

yes make a requirement for low standing with the three main factions i'm all for this.
also drop the turbo thrust back down some as it stands now its beyond ridiculous.

And just what are the Devs supposed to do with their promise of Camo Hound for Long Time Subscribers????
If the Hound is made into an exclusive ship for Corvus or Evil Co, then the Devs MUST STILL honor their promise to us.....

Corvus is not a pirate faction - they only concern themselves with the size of your wallet.
Corvus cannot become a pirate faction - they have been designated port of last resort for the game and cannot exclude any player ever.
If the Devs ever make a grey space faction I could support them having exclusive control of the hound and standing with them could be made to be faction exclusive.
If the rats ever want thier own faction and some type of exclusion then they need to get the devs to make a grey faction before they worry about the rest. (there should also be a hive/white faction as well)

Aside from chasing, which is the only thing it does even remotely well given its price, repair costs, and intended role as a very high level Corvus ship...WTF does "beyond ridiculous" turbo thrust help? It's probably still got a worse thrust/mass ratio than the Atlas X FFS, and it's not much better than the Valk if at all.
