Reduce TTM mission reqs in lieu of new addons
Assuming the primary reason for the ridiculous amount of work involved in building a TTM is based on securing subscriptions, I think the Devs should introduce new capital ship weaponry (for turrets and weapons ports) that must be manufactured via significant undertakings. This would allow them to further cut the mission requirements down for the TTM itself, with the assumption that anyone who builds one will also want the various capship-only addons to remain competitive and defensible.
Suggested capitalship-only addon types include:
-shields
-shield mods
-capgauss, swarm turrets, gat turrets
-Capital Cannons
-Modified TU mine with increase capacity, lower energy reqs, etc
-gravity well generator

I thought the ridiculous requirements were cause Inc didn't want anyone building them and then we were all like "EFF YOU" and built a massive fleet and then we flew our fleet to his house! (by carrying our laptops) and forced him to make them awesome!

Kind of what Spence said. I certainly didn't make it difficult to "secure subscriptions".
But it is supposed to be a major undertaking, a bit of an "endgame" type goal. I'm not against re-working the requirements and relative merits at some point.. but not yet, maybe later when there are more capship types available, and buildable stations and so on.
