In order to boost the utility of storm radar extenders and to comply with basic common sense (if they can extend the range of your sensors under storm conditions, they should have an even more dramatic effect under ideal conditions), the current "Storm Radar Extenders" should be renamed "Radar Extenders" and have a modified description/function as follows:

XX S port extender: Storm Extension range 1000m, Regular Extension range 2000m

Ineubis L port extender: Storm Extension range 2000m, Regular Extension range 4000m

For those who ate paint chips in their younger years, this means they'll function exactly as they do now in storms, but will also extend the current 5000m sensor range in normal sectors to 7000m and 9000m respectively. As such, they'll be more valuable and perhaps worth giving up a port.

I like this idea of using some of the devices VO has, but the biggest issue is not many people will give up a weapon port to use these things.

I suggest adding a couple little "Sensor Ports" to ships,one or two depending on the ship. Where only things like mineral scanners and spoofers etc., can be equipped. Adjust the weights of such things so there use will be an important decision, such as make the 9000m extender weight 1000k.

Good idea, with or without making some new sensor ports.

Already do and will continue to if more reasons are added. Stuff like Scanners, Sensors, and Radar addons make ships like the Hornet less silly.
