Weapon shot soundFX
Just a simple suggestion that probably won't make it into the test but would be nifty in the final version: have different sound effects for different shot types.
Right now all energy weapon fire has the same sound effect as it passes you by. I think it would be cool to have each weapon have a distinct sound to its shots. Even now, listening for when a rocket or energy bolt comes close is an important aspect of gameplay, and to give each weapon shot a distinct sound type would add a whole new dimension of strategy.
If you could tell the difference between, say, tachyons, gauss, and adv. gatling, or even sunflares and screamers, when you were ambushed you would know right away what you were being hit with. This could also add a certain intimidation factor to particular weapons: "Crap! That's gauss fire coming my way!"

It's probably already planned. I believe Incarnate is doing the sound work for Vendetta, so if you want to prod anybody it would be him. In any case there are more than just the variety of weapon sounds that's missing. There are no sounds for collisions, retro rockets, jettisoning of cargo either, for example. I guess all we have are the bare essentials to play the game and still make it enjoyable.
We used to. But they got bored and set the old "laser" sound to the sound of all the guns in 3.2. When 3.2 came out, Incarnate said he'd make new soundFX, but I think the actual work made him delay that little plan.
Yes, please more sounds. Not only weapon shots, but different explosion sounds, so a prom goes BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!! and a bus just goes BAAMM!!
It's been unofficially announced that a few new sounds are in the works now, including new gatling and laser sounds. Whether it'll be in the next update or the one after remains to be seen though.

It's also been unofficially announced that there's gonna be a lot of new stuff in the new update. Including TONS of billboards, and possibly a new chat subsystem, and possibly the new station interface that they promised us "sometime later" in 3.2.0.
Sounds like a lot of features. I got a feeling it'll be delayed again. If not I'll be VERY impressed with the amount of progress and work that's being put. I LOVE YOU DEVS!!!
