Capships appear like group members on owners' radar
Let the owners of capships see their ship on radar as they can group members: at any distance within the same sector. Need justification? Our key fob pings the ship, and receives a coded transmission from the ship's transponder.
Also, sound alert suite now needs a "car alarm set" chirp-chirp sound for when a captain parks their vessel ;)

Does the key fob have a "panic" button that makes the ship spin around firing all weapons and going /me honks? :)

on a related note, Inc: perhaps a new tab within the comm tab that shows info on parked ships, Unless you want us to be all, "Duuuude… Where's my ship?" or maybe just highlight the sector on the nav map? or if it is less work, add a line to the player info on the HUD.
The Comm tab is pretty crowded, but a new sub-screen somewhere in your PDA could later host remote commands to the AI: Whatever the devs in their infinite wisdom, and/or the players in their infinite bickering, deem fit to allow capships to do: Maybe warp to sector # within system, or nav to system/sector, using the same pathfinding rules the convoy dents use, or set self destruct when Samwise tries to steal it…
