If a ship enters the sector and it it 1500m away from you, that means you can't intercept it after it has travelled 1500m. It's a perfectly fine argument.
totally dependent on what ship you are chasing. Under many circumstances even a valk at that distance couldnt catch up in time. Poor argument.
The big problem I see with all of these threads lately is that people are complaining about disparities at the upper end of the ship capability spectrum. Valks and Proms are supposed to be nation exclusive ships that are better than everything else in certain aspects and help define their respective nation. If you remove the Valk and Prom from the picture, how do all of these ships stack up? If new ships are being created, they should really only be compared against Valks and Proms to make sure they don't outshine them.
If you ask me, they should hurry up and make military ships military-specific with repercussions for losing too much faction.

I agree with draug.
Make them outshine, and then rebalance. The goal is not to make everything almost as good...we'll have the same problem we do now. Make it better so that people have choices besides valk and prom. Military items are not top tier in all categories. Sure, they might have bigger guns, but private offerings may very well be lighter, more agile, and faster.
Why not buff up some of the other ships that are sorely lacking instead of constantly beating this bloody pulp that once was a dead horse? Or maybe add some new ones with new and interesting features?
The devs have already both buffed the SVG and nerfed the Valkyries in recent years. Doing this again isn't going to magically make a bunch of jaded grumpy ex-players return and be happy.

Arf, I agree.
For the purposes of this discussion, let's take the mk{highest} of each ship, or most elite variant, and:
a) Increase the price significantly
b) Buff the stats significantly
c) Stop worrying if it's better than the coveted valk or prom
