First of all, the stations are much livelier since you increased the escort activity around the stations. They feel alive now when I enter a station sector and see all the little guppies heading in or lining up to dock. However ....

And this is not mission critical, but something that I think would improve the overall aesthetics of the game when you can get to it...

The transport ships are a good start, but I'd like to see more station specific ships at each station instead of the same old guppies. Mining bots that haven't gone hive at mining stations. Training flights as military stations. That sort of thing.
