Mobile: change chat mode with long-press
Similar to the way the Activate, Mission, and Target buttons can have their function changed by long-pressing them, the Chat Window should similarly be configured to change what destination is being chatted to when it's pressed (ie. Channel, Group, Guild, Sector)

Also very frustrating when playing on Android. You have to type out /say_guild or use plugins to work around this if you want to chat on anything other than the active channel.

And there is the elephant in the verse: why can't we change the default from channel chat to another one? I really hate double/tripple checking chat mode before chatting every time I log in.

Uh, you can? It changes the default channel whenever you do /join x
Noted. It is annoying, but I change chat types mainly by popping up the PDA and using the radio-buttons to switch types. It could be made more convenient.
But if you're trying to mine or do other things in space that require your attention, opening the PDA isn't the most optimal way to go about this. Whenever you have the PDA open, your situational awareness drops to nil.
Arf: I think he's talking about the sector/system/group/guild channels, not the numbered ones.
Thank you for the clarification pizzagoods, indeed I was talking about setting sector/system/group/guild chat as default.

I agree.. I wasn't claiming otherwise. I was just pointing out that it does not require a plugin or typing out /say_guild to have your chat default to the guild channel, as had been previously mentioned.
We'll see what we can do.
