Trident Weapon
Since the Devs have given us the weapon to suck the energy from ships, I believe it is time they also addressed the Weakness of the Trident and gave us a weapon slot or Turret to protect the rear of the Tridents. A large port that the Captain can fire as a secondary gun would work nicely, or another Turret to be able to bring fire upon any ship near the rear and docking area. This could also be moving an existing Turret or changing the firing range limits of the Turrets to where missiles or Neut fire could cover this area.
It is plain silly to think that a single ship should be able to solo kill a Trident, just as it would be to think that a single plain could sink a Navy Destroyer, Battleship, or Carrier. These large vessels have every area of approach covered by fire from one or more weapons systems.

Destroyers, Battleships, and Carriers are all a different class of ship from the Trident which is a support ship, not a combat ship. Not all ships need to be defensible from all angles. However, the trident is very much weakened by not having shields like it's NPC counter-part.
Any ship in the ocean can indeed be sunk by a single plane. Does it happen often? No. Is it impossible? No. Does every private yacht have full anti-air coverage? No.
It is neither easy nor impossible to solo kill a trident, and that is as it should be. Get over it.

Shields should also protect from power drain, but once you have the shield down there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to disable a capital ship of any size under the right circumstances.
Shield regen should be negated by power drain weapons. Though that is really a suggestion better left for another thread.
Better turret placement would solve this problem.
