Play the share market...
OK, I know credits are easy to come by and what-not, but if at some stage in the future we could buy shares in various industries (like those that make plasteel, outer hull plates, consumer robots, you know, all the stuff we buy often), it would be cool. Add a sense of involvement, or something.
Basically, a way of being included in the market beyond just being customers and truck drivers.

If this is just sitting alongside the current mechanisms, I don't think it is a good idea because it distracts developer attention.
What would be nice, though, is folding this into the standings game. E.g. for Itan and Serco, the only way to get standing > 600 is by fighting the enemy in semi-organized battles, and the higher ranks are "military" ranks. For the corps, the only way to get >600 is by buying shares. In both cases, a player should benefit it that nation/corp is "doing well" (e.g. in terms of convoys getting through, engagements won etc), by gaining credits and/or by having stuff available in station.

I like the idea: buy shares in Axia, then set out to make sure its convoys get through to its buyers and its own economic needs are filled, causing the shares to rise. Or, short Axia and then pirate its convoys and destroy those trying to supply Axia stations, causing those shares to tank.
Too bad making it work would involve a more realistic economy than the Devs would (or could) ever build.

This is a game. It's supposed to be fun...
Well, it's not like you'd be forced to mess with shares ARF. And until there is a significant credit sink, I was just spit-balling an idea is all.
Some people think stock markets are fun. I, for one, would enjoy something like this.
Luckily for you, there's plenty of games that simulate that kind of crap for quants who think it's fun.
Driven by its rapid development of engrossing, end-game level content for VO, Guild Software is our #1 pick in the sector this quarter.
