ok, what gets me about "concussion" rail guns is how in the hell they don't do damage. A rail gun is a mass-driver system that accelerates a projectile to ridiculous velocity to do mass-times-acceleration-equals-force style damage. How are we to believe that system can deliver a projectile that just spins the target about while doing no damage to the hull?
It's all about pressure, not force. A two-year-old with boxing gloves isn't going to cause you much damage, whereas the same two-year-old with a sewing needle could fuck you up. Same force, less area, more pressure.
Concussion railguns involve a lot more force than a normal railgun, but manage to distribute it over a large enough part of your ship that you only get knocked around, without sustaining damage. (How? Hell if I know. Magic magnetic fields or something I guess.)

CD, are you sure you aren't referring to the concussion mine launcher, which fires a flare like thing that does no damage?

Oh my...we almost got off the first page. With a yo-ho-ho, and a ye-he-he.....make the concussion railgun re-loadable for maximum glee!
The devs do seem to be on a fixing-things kick lately. This seems like it would be trivial to fix.
I'm under the impression that they made it like this on purpose.
If they really don't want the weapon to be reused, they should either have it disappear once depleted, or else have it convert into a cu of scrap.

They aren't re-loadable because somebody thought that players would adapt their play style around a bad mechanic. Can we get an official response on why this isn't an easy implementation, or an ETA on when we should see it?
