Trident should be able to carry a few of your ships.
It would make sense. You take a ex.: 500 xithricite mining mission. You then take your trident to the mining zone, fly out with your mining ship, mine full cargo hold, get back into the trident, unload the cargo, and go back to mine again.
What I am saying, that tridents should be able to park in orbit and act as small personal stations to miners, traders, and pirates.
Would be cool too, if player parked tridents could still be in orbit, even after the player logs off, acting as a static undestroyable and non-dockable visual effect. No need of remaking every station to support of docking tridents normally.

Currently it requires a second account running on a second client to do this. It's quite fun, but a drain on the wallet. It is the devs' stated intention to allow the owner of a trident to launch in a small craft, but the change is significant in how vo works: You are your ship, and tridents are no exception.
There are long-running debates on wether capital ships should be persistent, but I don't think anyone has asked for them to be undestroyable set-dressing. Interesting idea. More likely people would be finding an empty sector and flying beyond scanner range of the warp in point before logging.
They have no intention (that I know of) to make every station dock-able for capital ships, just 1 or 2 per nation. The owner being able to launch from the ship could dock and interact with the station and load/unload and repair the ship. Personally, I would also love to see some stations equipped with docking arms a la Deep Space 9, where the ship stays visible (and vulnerable) while docked. These could support loadout changes and repairs.

+ lots

+1 to docking arms for large ships (either capital or above or a specific tonnage, which could depend on station (ie in a very small station, all but the smallest fighters need to dock externally)
In game terms, this is a good solution to allow trident repair/reload without making them invulnerable or fixing the scale problem. the risk of leaving a 'dent at a safe station should be relatively low as it is under the protection of the turrets and the station guards, so attackers will have to deal damage while dealing with those defenses. If they do bombing runs the trident will be repaired while they go reload, so if the repair rate is decent it will be hard to pull off. If you get 5 mates to do a bombing run and you can all dodge the turrets or give up standing, you deserve the kill. You could even make it so nation space stations pay for any repairs/replacements to friendly ships since they have an obligation to protect.
In RP terms, it makes perfect sense to dock a large ship outside the station. The cost of having a docking bay for large ships would be astronomical and it makes no economic sense as an arm can be used to load/unload just as well. The current solution is a bit like having a drydock for every ship in the harbor. Also, it would look much nicer to see a large fleet in the harbor rather than just the empty shell...
