8hr Trial
Make it OBVIOUS the trial is just that. Soooo many newbs are all "what? This game is not free?"
Gets tedious explaining something that should be clear from the start.

+1....
Each time I log in again while on a trial account it tells me how many hours and minutes I've used of my 8 hour trial in white chat. I'm not sure how much more obvious the devs can make it.
Sometimes newbies are wrong; in this case... I think they should have to deal. There's a fine line between gently reminding someone that this isn't a free product and giving off the impression that this game is all about money.

It seems to be specific to the mobile users. Something to do with the app store maybe?
It's usually the "time used/remaining" that triggers the query (something along the lines of "Whats it mean I've used 2 of my 8hrs?"), so I assume that's the first they become aware of the fact its a trial, rather than a free game.

I think it's the fault of the stores themselves. The sub is mentioned on both Google Play and the App Store, but it's hidden behind a "read more" button in both locations.
TA, words too hard. People no like words. Give game free.
People learn deal, or.....no, I can't do it.
Then people are going to have to deal with it not fitting into their assumptions or they're going to have to learn to take five minutes to research a game before downloading it.
Info being hidden behind a "read more" button is not their fault. Not clicking it and going off of assumptions, is.

Fairy nuff. It's just one of the things I tire of explaining, when I feel they should already know.

create a mission, that can only be seen by trial accounts, and that is titled "Your trial account". The mission should tell the user that their trial time will begin once they leave the training sector, and that the only way to extend the trial time is with a friend key (one time only), or to purchase a subscription.
The mission should be available in all stations (and preferably even in deep space), and it should show remaining time when the mission is started, the mission is ended, and on the mission timer.

tinbot, that is definitely something that the Mission system should not do.
They need an appropriate section of the Comm or Character tab for that.

Yeah the Deneb Border Engagement place-holder mission already causes confusion and it's actually mission-related stuff.
