Anti Missile Flares
Like in real jets, heat flares, that eject from your ship and make tracking missiles follow it instead.
Capacity: 12 flares
Effectiveness: 15% per flare
Volley: 6 flares in different directions
Grid Power: 4
Though it strikes me as being a weird one to implement.

+1 to flack ... what ho fry me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast

Lol, it isnt top gun, there's nothing that suggests that the missiles even use heat to find their targets. Sounds like another port option that will rarely be used

If not heat, then they are a distraction to make the missiles lose their tracking. Jeez TRS, have an open mind.
Drev: he's talking about decoy flares, not flack.
-1. If you need a decoy flare, you're doing something wrong. VO missiles suck unless you take them in the face or you're in a capship, and a decoy flare would be useless in either situation (I would assume a missile could tell the difference between a flare and a big honking capship).

You'd think that with fighter jets and flares. There needs to be some way to not get hit by a missile other than dodging. It'd open the field for more powerful anti capship missiles. (faster, better tracking, more damage)
+1 to additional weapon countermeasures. Flares would only work on heat-seekers.

TRS, read the in-game description.
Radar chaff would be useful. Especially if it triggered the proximity fuse of rockets and caused *problems* with player radar.

There already is a way to not get hit without dodging: shield turrets. Which the pilot can operate on his own, now. Another thing that could be added is flack turrets and the ability to shoot down incoming ordinance.
I made a suggestion like this a while ago. +1
