All should be craftable at Odia M-14 for a nominal fee and using components that are exclusively obtainable by pirating Serco/Itani/UIT voys within their respective nation spaces. Nobody should be able to buy them anywhere--you want them, you have to kill nationalist convoys in their own space and escape with the loot. As always, I'll say something totally sane about standing that will get ignored: they should only be craftable by Corvus POS/faction variant KOS (i.e., you want a Corvus Mod X-1, you must be Itani KOS).

Stats should be roughly the same; maybe tweak them towards lower combat performance and higher speed because... pirate!

Then, for the love of God, make the real things require mutually exclusive faction standing with teeth.

I absolutely *love* the idea of rare drop components that you get from attacking serco/itani vessels in their nation space that you then use towards something valuable. That is a total keeper.

However, Corvus modified nationalist ships are complete lazy mode. Honestly, I'm all for you being able to fly X-1/Skyprom class equivalent ships purchased from corvus, but can we at least have them as unique ships. I mean it's not like this kind of suggestion is going to get implemented before the devs regain the capability to easily get new ship models what with curt on the road to mastering the skillset now. Why can't they be new designs that corvus needs some parts from serco/itani space to manufacture.

+1 OP. The suggestion as it stands has a possibility of happening soon, with minimal dev effort. New models and balancing entirely new sets of ship stats is far more difficult to do than using slightly tweaked versions of existing nation ships. Perhaps as a "next step" we could get new models/ships.

No. The Itani and Serco are completely different nations. Fighting Serco with SCPs would just ruin immersion.

It's not like you don't see Itani flying proms already, Snk, and vice versa.

Suggestions with full community support and that require minimal dev effort are somewhat more likely to happen, instead of throwing the idea out the window entirely.

You just have no basis for that. I thought that would be the case as well so a while back I started suggesting everything I could think of that would be implementable without clear development work.

There's no evidence that the dev team picks out stuff that is easy to implement over stuff that is not to work on. You can't even point at the conquerable station changes as an example because while they started with the simple value change they then proceeded with the developmentally more complex change to the docking mechanics that people suggested.

This suggestion isn't likely to happen soon; it might as well be done properly. I'd be willing to wager that the team is more interested in reading about suggestions that are thoroughly fleshed out rather than ones that are designed as a quick-fix insertion like we're all a bunch of addicts jonesing for our next content fix.

Itani flying proms and serco flying valks is not a good thing, it says to me something is wrong.

Corvus deserves it's own unique ships too.

Lets do it properly.

fuck yes this needs to happen, and i'd like to see different stats more oriented towards chasing/hunting

Built in cargo scanners/addon scanners ect...

the missions should only be visible when you're tri-kos imo for all the disadvantages of being KOS everywhere there oughta be an upside

No tri-KOS, that'd be stupid.
It should be something like this:

To manufacture an SCP: Serco KOS, Itani POS, (possibly Corvus POS too for providing the services for building it)
To manufacture a Valkarie X-1: Serco POS, Itani POS, (Corvus, read above)

So, lemme get this straight: You want to make craftable versions of ships that people already run away like chickens in on a regular basis because trucking them halfway across the galaxy is a pain and they don't want to lose one?

Yup. I'd like there to be blackmarket versions of nationalist ships available, obtainable through a properly piratical means... AND then see getting the real things made much harder.

All you 1+ers aren't thinking through the consequences of the change. Corvus needs its own ships not carbon copies of the nationalist ones.

1) it deserves to stand out and have its own style
2) nationalism needs to stand out, visually as well as functionally

Strong nationalism is the most important factor in keeping the vendetta story alive and keeping a healthy amount of structured conflict going. And I'm not just saying that because I am a nationalist, quite the contrary, I am a nationalist because I realized that. Perhaps some of you remember I used to be a pirate.

Less distinction won't help anybody and it will blur the lines between the roles even more and we will end up with pirates vs anti pirates again in perpetuity.

The best part of this suggestion is the stealing of parts to build things. The carbon copies of ships has always been a bad idea.
