If a player is UIT KOS and they are in a subfactions sector (ie Valent) the UIT strike force should still chase them. The subfaction can allow them to dock but the strike force should remain outside waiting....
Makes sense to me, with one quibble: if the UIT SF attacks the KOS player inside the subfaction's NFZ (and maybe they should) they get treated like any other NFZ violators.
While we're at it, maybe we can get rid of the retarded magic docking locks at subfaction stations in Dau and AC.

+1 with lecter's addition
That would make some hilarious corporate warfare :P

+1 Doc.
You'd figure bots would have to obey the NFZ unless they were the guards or strike force of that faction. That's another suggestion though.
+1 to UIT KOS = hated by all subfactions within UIT borders. It'd lend some extra weight to that -1000 black bar.

-1 It's rather nice to have UIT be a "loose alliance of traders" instead of a formal government. This is one of those things. Plus if your only talking about the 3000m or so that your in a sub faction sector and not inside the NFZ. I don't really see the point.
I can see the nfz being a "safe" zone where the UIT strike forces wont attack due to jurisdiction issues but that might be hard to actually do for programming.
Having a fight break out between UIT and a subfaction could be fun in some ways creating a civil war of sorts.
Having 2 strike forces and perhaps some escort ships as well would make for a very confusing enviroment.
One of those lines the Devs will have to decide on.

coteyr, we're talking about someone who is -1000 marked "Kill on sight" To get back to -999 all you have to do is shoot a single collector bot.
That's the absolute worst standing you can possibly have. How many UIT KOS players do you see around? Most of the ones that DO have it, do so on principle and want the whole 'verse to know that they're trouble.

Ah, so you mean true KOS. I am firmly against UIT-Hated preventing docking with the sub-factions, but I could possibly accept an exception for KOS. I still don't really like that idea though.
-1, PaKettle is just mad some pirate stole his Reinforced Bulkhead( Which was by any means not easy. Surviving eing shot at by turrets and chased by strike forces in a xc loaded with a RBH is harder than you may think. I lost quite a few xc's recovering that RBH.) And By the way sometimes they do chase you for a bit in the subfactions. I've been killed by UIT strike forces in other sub factions multiple times. Seriously though, blame TGFT TraderVyx aka Westacular for the loss of your RBH.
@abortretryfail if you mean true -1000 then maybe, but even then....

Uh, no. Then they're not subfactions.
And Pup's post just made my morning. Eat a dick, PaK :)

Right, they're corporations with their own resident employees, flag, laws, and military. They all follow the UIT Senate's rules in Dau, interestingly enough.
@coteyr -999 is still only "Hated"

In AC, too, and that stupid kludge to HELP SAVE TEH N00BZ should be fixed.

Pretty ridiculous that the UIT can't chase KOS people in their own territory.

No, it isn't ridiculous. The subfactions might cooperate with the Dau senate and their counterparts, but they are willing to go to bat for individuals that benefit them even if it's to the detriment of the Union. That is what the UIT is. It's not Japan or China where they value group prosperity above all else, it's a flimsy coalition of self-interested corporations that aren't afraid to screw each other or the union over if it means one of them can come out on top.
The UIT guards leave sub-faction space because they know it's not their jurisdiction. No idea what lecter is smoking but i'm not entertaining this stupid idea that the UIT have their shit together, or are supposed to.

Pup I build and move RBH's by the hundreds....
In fact i just finished 2 exteranal hulls this week......
It wasnt a big loss.
This is simply fixing a hole in the faction system.
Dont get an over inflated sense of your worth in VO.

Must've just been a coincidence that you posted this right after a UIT Kos player killed you, took your loot, and stashed that loot in a subfactions station then.

The system may belong to the Union, but the sector belongs to the corporation that guards it. These corporations that, I might add, have no problem screwing each other, and maybe even the Union itself, over to get an edge.
The UIT aren't so much a nation, as they are an alliance of nations that agreed to be represented to the rest of the galaxy by one banner, but can barely tolerate living under that banner with each other and don't really respect that banner's authority within "its" territory. A confederacy, but with even looser ties to itself and more internal bickering and fighting.

So, basically UIT = USA. Got it.
