Convoy Behavior during attacks in unguarded space

Jun 29, 2013 DeathSpores link
What should be systematic behavior:
If a member of the escort kill another member, all fighters should attack him and destroy him
if a convoy is attacked the ships that went ahead scouting (warthogs fer example) should be recalled fer help
In a ion storm, the voy should still attempt to run away

What could be random behavior
Moths / taurs / atlas should drop them cargo and hold ground shooting the enemy with all weapons at them disposal while fighters and assault ships provide cover. When the assailant is destroyed they should take 'em cargo back and pursue mission

When traveling in a system, a convoy could ask fer reinforcements from same faction station in the system they currently are. Variable and random delay between wave of fighters; Of course SF should not be already engaged at station, and if someones breaks the NFZ at the station after the SF left there should be a delay to launch the next wave, and/or the convoy assist SF could be recalled.

Once a ship is destroyed if a station of the same faction is in the system, they should launch a cargo recovery team fer high value items.

bit off topic
In a guarded sector if the voy is the same faction as the station, a strike force should be launch even if the attack happened outside NFZ.
In the NFZ convoy with different faction from local station should not open fire first on other ships unless them local standing is neutral and should wait for enemy to be temp KOS first

off topic: Convoys from another faction should not magically disappear after docking at 'em destination: A uit voy coming to a XX station should depart later fer another mission. Escort should have its own dynamic menu with local faction escorts, other faction escorts or whatever suits best.

Yes, please make it harder for PC escorts to defend the convoy. I love this idea.

Bahahahaha, yes, please do make them drop cargo and stop moving. A stationary target is much easier to destroy than one that keeps running away while its escorts fight back.

This part actually makes sense--sorta. It's been a longstanding bug that a UIT voy inside a Tung station's NFZ could light you up without penalty if you were -600 or lower UIT.

Allowing NPC moths to shoot at you with main-guns would be hilarious. The last time I checked, they were equipped with dual-capgauss on their L-ports.

Actually if a scout hits a snag the voy should be re-routed if possible
if a re-route isnt possible then the scouts should attempt to clear out any threats or decoy them away from the voys path.
