Escort Missions
Currently if you attack let's say a behemoth that is part of a convoy often its escorts will come to the defense. I suggest that if a player is doing an escort mission and is attacked by a player that the same thing should happen.

They're not there to protect the other convoy guards, you nitwit. They're there to protect the convoy of trade ships. Having them all rush off to attack someone just because they scratched yer paint makes sense only for exploiting the SHIT out of convoys.

Hehehe, this would be awesome: you and a buddy both sign up for convoys out of the same station heading in the same direction. Attack eachother's convoy, get hit back, and let them destroy eachother. Teamwork is what an MMO is all about, right? +1
I don't see how this makes me a 'nitwit' Nurse Lector. Having a convoy protect its convoy party is logical to me.
Shoot some convoy guards some time. See how much the other guards care. They're there to protect the convoy, not the guards.

If you have no idea how things work now, it's rather hard to suggest anything that makes sense in context.
Of course, your suggestion was an excellent demonstration of that point.
If you're really suggesting that convoy guards all react to any attack on any member of "the group"--i.e., all convoy guards and all convoy trade ships, plus any player's who are escorting--then you're an idiot. This would (1) detract from the point of a convoy, which is to get the traders from A to B intact, and (2) make it so much easier to exploit convoys, by making it easy to draw all the guards off the traders.

Your insults accomplish nothing here. How would this make it any easier to draw all the guards off the traders compared to the way it works now?

The gaurds need to attack anything within 1000 or so from the voy thats hostile and they need to remember attackers from sector to sector.
Remembering attackers from sector to sector would be a huge improvement. Though except for the stupidly overpowered tridents, nothing about convoys poses much of a challenge to an attacker.

Just create it so that there's a mission where YOU're the trade ship. In that case, the guards come to your aid. Otherwise, no. Feints are as old as time. RL guards aren't generally going to run off station just because a part of the defense got hit.
